(Shadow's P.O.V.)

I left without saying anything. If what that boy said is true, then I need to find her before it's too late. If I had a chaos emerald on me this would be much faster. I have yet to find any however. I make my way through Forest Hill when I hear her. She doesn't seem like her usual self. I don't know how late I am but it seems as if I'm already too late to help her. She's just staring at me. Waiting for me to make a move, like a wild animal waiting for their prey to make the first move. I bit down on my thumb, hard enough it bleeds. It hurts like hell. Almost immediately after it starts bleeding she goes after my thumb. I can feel my face heating up at the predicament I've put myself in.

(Reader's P.O.V.)

This sweet taste... It feels familiar somehow... WAIT A MINUTE! I pull away so fast that some of the blood I was drinking drips off the side of my mouth. "Shadow! W-What are you doing h-here?" His face is as red as the stripes in his quills. "I'm glad to see you're better. How do you feel?" "What happened to your thumb? Did I do that?" He shakes his head. "I bit it. It seems you were telling the truth after all." I rip off a small bit of my sleeve and wrap his thumb. "I'm sorry... That must've hurt." We both sit in silence for a long while. "Why don't we come to my home and talk a bit."

*sometime later*

"I'm really sorry..." "Don't worry about it. It was my choice. Are you feeling any better" "I'm more worried about you. Why did you bite yourself?! You know I can't hold back if you're presenting it in front of me on a silver platter." He sighs, "It was the only thing I could think to do. You weren't looking well and I decided to test a theory I had." "I COULD'VE KILLED YOU! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!" "I was thinking about how you helped me. So I helped you. To thank you." I walked into my makeshift kitchen. "I don't have much here but if you want something-" "Why not return to your apartment?" "Because I'll just continue to hurt people." "And what if I stayed with you?" I stopped everything. Shadow living in my house? With me? "What?" "I'm saying what if I stayed with you until you found a permanent solution." "I-I guess it's okay for a little while..." What am I saying?! This is a terrible plan! A boy under the same roof as me?! This has bad written all over it!
