A moment of peace

(Reader's P.O.V.)

I managed to give Shadow extra time. With it, we spent our time looking for a way out of the game. We're currently looking through books in the library. Anything we can find on Mischief helps. The book I'm looking through is depictions of death also known as the grim reaper. Only reason I come to this conclusion is that I met Mischief after I became a vampire and I remember hearing his voice up in the mountains. He might be some kind of soul reaper or demon. "Hey Shadow, whatcha reading?" "A book on ancient gods. I thought I might find something there." "No luck?" "Nothing stands out." He shuts the book and stands up. "Why don't we have lunch and come back." He extends his hand and I take it. He pulls me close and whispers in my ear. "Have you fed yet?" "I had some of the fruit this morning, I should be okay for this week." He nods and pulls back. We walk to a nearby cafe and meet up with Rouge. She's been doing some digging in G.U.N.'s database about incidents similar to mine. We decided to meet up to talk about our findings. "Nice seeing you Rouge. Shadow and I were just about to go to lunch. Would you like to come join us? Perhaps we can have another discuss more of our findings." "Sounds nice hon. Weren't we planning to meet up anyway? Although this is a better location than going to the park. Might be safer. Who knows. Mischief might be aware of what we're up to." Shadow nods, "Perhaps we should change our meeting place every few days." After that, we enter the café and order lunch. Once we finished ordering, we discuss our findings. Rouge managed to find one similar case to my problem. Apparently, back in Victorian times, there was someone who encountered a boy wearing a cloak. The boy offered him immortality if he played a game with him. In the end, the man won the game but the immortality turned out to be a curse. Rouge said he wrote a journal. "So if he wrote a journal it might tell us how to win the game?" "Maybe." Just then we hear laughter. "You'll never find it..."
