There and Back

Chapter 4

So far, my school day has been great. I've made a friend, got an awesome teacher and it's only lunch. When I opened my lunch kit, I found a note and some money. The note was from mom saying that she didn't have time to pack my lunch and gave me money for lunch. I went to the tuck shop and got some noodles and chips. When I got back, Kate was talking to a boy about a year older than us.

" Hi Kate." I said.

" Oh, hi Kristina." Kate said smiling.

"  Hi." the guy behind her said, looking me over.

" Oh yea! Kristina, I'd like you to meet my brother Sam. He's in grade ten and he just turned 16." said Kate.

He is hot, I thought. His beautiful blond hair was up in a faux hawk and his eyes were a brilliant shade of blue.

" Hi Sam." I said. I could already feel my cheeks going red. He's gonna think I'm crazy if I start blushing alredy. 

" I love your hair." was his first comment.

" Thanks." I said trying to act cool, " I don't get that a lot."

" I don't see why. It's beautiful." he said.

Wow! He's good at that! I thought. I have never met any smooth talkers, espesially not boys.

" Hey, do you wanna come to our house after school?" Kate asked me.

" Yea sure just let me text mom."

Me: Hi mom

Mom: Hi sweetie, hows your first day of school?

Me: Good, mind if i go 2 a friends house?

Mom: Great! You already have a friend. Sure you can go;)

Me: Tanx mom, cu l8r

" She said I could go!"

" Eeeee! Your gonna love it at my place!" Kate sreemed

" Quick question, where do you live?"

" Out in the country." Sam answered for Kate.

At the end of the school day, Kate and I went out side to meet Sam. He was standing by a car talking to some of his friends. As we got closer, I heard him say my name.

" Hey, Kristina, Kate!" he said, " get over here and meet my friends."

So me and Kate ran over.

"This is Jake," he said pointing to a boy with black hair and brown eyes, " He's got his drivers lisence so he's gonna drive us to our house."

" Hi Jake." I said, blushing ever so slightly

" And this is Tim." he said, pointing to another guy with brown hair and green eyes," And this is John." pointing to a boy with blond brown hair that sticks up in all directions and blue-green eyes.

" John!" Kate said running up to him and giving him a hug.

" Hi baby." he said kissing to top of her head ever so lightly.

" John'll be coming with us." Sam said.

" Why?" I asked.

Sam whispered into my ear, " He's Kate's boy friend."

" Oh he he. Can't believe I didn't figure that out." I said , my cheeks turning as bright as my hair.

" Let's go." yelled Jake, " I've got the car started."

We got in and we were off.

After 5 minutes of silence, Jake tried starting conversation.

" So, Kristina, how long have you been here?" he asked

" 2 months now. I think." I replied

" Cool, cool." he said, " Is your hair color natural?"

" Yup."

" Cool, cool." Sam and John imitated

" Hey thats's what I was gonna say!" Jake stated

John, Sam and Jake started copying each other and at one one point it ended up going " Stop copying me, stop copying me, stop copying me" and on and on. It was about twenty minutes since the boys started copying each other. Finally Kate decided to stop it.

" Guys! We're almost here!" she said
