Tyler's POV

It is the end of the school week and the first day of the term break. A time where you can rest and hang out with all your friends.

Holidays are one of my favourite times of the year and it meant that there's no school and no homework.

Woohoo!

It has already been a week since I started dating Alexis, but Chloe and I haven't talked since. Alexis wanted us to meet up at the park today and to go on a date.

But I declined, never wanting to let that girl see me again until school starts. Instead, I texted Adrian- my best friend- to shoot some hoops with me.

"Hey, wanna meet up today? Shoot some hoops or something?" - Tyler

"Um, sorry I can't I have work to do" - Adrian

"It's alright, but do you need my help? Where are you now, I'll meet you there" - Tyler

"Nah it's nothing, I'll just see you at school" - Adrian

Hmm I thought, that's so strange.

Usually, whenever I offered to help, he accepted and he would do the exact same for me.

I thought carefully, thinking about where he could be right now. The library? The cafe?

Oh! The post office.

I knew that he had been secretly working there because I saw a whole bunch of letters and packages in his bag. The other day I had a look in his bag and on the letters, were different names and addresses.

This must be why he hasn't been coming to school or talking to Jessica and I. I'll just search for him and then help him.

I took my bike and rode it to the nearest post office and saw Adrian.

"Hey! Adrian!" he turned around and saw me.

"What are you doing here?" he questioned.

"To help, what else? Pass me a few packages and I'll help deliver them" I smiled.

"No, you don't have to do this. I can just do it by my-"

"I want to do this, cause we're friends. Aren't we?"

"Yeah you're right. Here you go" he says as he passes me a couple of letters. I rode my bike, delivering each and every one of them until there was no more.

A sip of this cold and refreshing apple juice, made my throat feel less dry and thirsty. We sat beside a tall tree, within the park that we used to always play at.

The night sky glowed with magnificent stars and the wind blew gently.

"So what's been going on? You haven't been talking to me lately" I turned my head, to see his reaction.

"Okay, so my grandma has been getting very ill and I was working to get money for her. For her surgery I mean. That's why I haven't been at school or talking to you" he sighed.

"I'll pray that she'll get better and during a time like this, for you, I would be more than happy to help you out. Like today."

"Thanks Tyler, truly." so now I understand what's been happening with him. I was glad that I could help today and I'll continue to do so in the future.

"Tyler, so I heard that you're dating Alexis now. I didn't know you were even friends. What happened? I know that you used to like-" said Adrian.

Before he could continue, I cut him off and then said,"Yeah, I still do like Chloe, but there's a reason for why I'm dating Alexis. I can't tell you now, but I will soon. Don't worry about me"

I smile to him.

"Okay tell me when you want to"

"Yep, I will"

There I was, staring at my phone and thinking about whether or not I should text Chloe. Is she still mad? Should I tell her? A million questions came to mind and I was in a major dilemma.

What do I do?

"Hey Chloe, we need to talk" *delete*. No that seems too serious. How should I message her?

*Ding*

I looked down at my phone and saw a text message.

From Chloe!

I quickly opened up the message and read what she wrote.

"Tyler, it's been a while but we need to talk. Meet me tomorrow at Green Leaf Cafe. 2 o'clock sharp." - Chloe

"Okay, see you tomorrow" - Tyler

I lay in bed, unable to sleep for the fear of waking up tomorrow to talk to Chloe. I closed my eyes, but the thoughts of horrible things kept appearing in my head, making it difficult for me to sleep.

But as time went on, my mind became blank and soon the sun rose brightly.

I got ready by changing clothes and having breakfast. I was extremely tired since I couldn't even sleep last night.

I sighed.

Knowing that I will be either getting slapped today or worse never being able to see her again.

The lights turned green and I walked across the road, soon sprinting towards the cafe. I peeked around the cafe and couldn't see anyone there.

A quick glance at my watch, which read 1:50 p.m, okay I'm not late. I took a seat at a free table and waited patiently for her arrival.

"Hey" I turned and saw Chloe. She was wearing a white shirt, with a floral pattern, along with a light blue skirt. Around her neck was a small silver bow necklace, with the initials of C.H, which stood for her name.

"Hey Chloe, so I want to say-" I was cut off before I could apologize.

"Let's walk outside and talk there" I nodded my head and she led the way.

"Tyler, do you really like Alexis?" before I could reply to her question, I saw someone who I wish wasn't there at that time.

"Oh, Tyler, what are you doing here babe?" it was Alexis.

This is the worst timing ever! I looked at Chloe and she was now walking off, staring at the ground.

"Sorry, I'm busy Alexis" I tried to run after Chloe, but Alexis grabbed my wrist and pulled me to her.

Now Chloe was getting further and further away, I gently pushed Alexis away from me and ran after her.

"Chloe! Wait, this is a misunderstanding" I turned her body around to look at her face. Tears rolled off of her cheeks and onto the ground.

I stared at her, but she wouldn't look at me in the eyes. I held her hand and ran as quickly as I could, taking her to place more secluded.

"Wait! Tyler, why are you dating her? Is she better than me? Does she have something that I don't have? Why do you make my heart beat like this?" her tears didn't stop, they flowed more rapidly and I couldn't do much.

"Stupid" I wrapped my arms around her shoulder and pulled her closer to me.

"I love you"
