The Broken Empty Promise

Tyler's POV

After that whole embarrassing situation, Ms. Harper called me out to talk to her.

"So, you're her boyfriend? Right?" she asked in a voice that made me think that I was going to get into trouble.

"Um, let me re-introduce myself. I'm Tyler Carson, Chloe's boyfriend."

Out of nowhere, she started to squeal and that made me automatically think of how Chloe does the exact same thing.

"I do not know how a girl like her was able to date someone like you. Thank you so much! Ever since the last two hours of when I first met you, I really like your personality. I think that you are a perfect match for her" then she pulled me into her arms and hugged me tightly, thanking me again and again.

"No, it's my pleasure to be dating her and thank you for giving birth to her" I said.

"Naw, you're such a sweetheart" she loosened her hug.

"Tyler, do you think you can persuade her to go back to school?" she said with all seriousness.

"Can you entrust her with me for the night? My grandparents will also be home and I'll sleep with my brother if you're concerned. She can stay the night at my house and I'll find a way for her to go to school. Is that okay with you?" I carefully asked.

"I think that would be a great idea, but please remember to sleep in separate rooms. It's not that I don't trust you or anything, but this is how all parents would act. Okay?"

"Okay! I'll get her packing then. Thank you, Ms. Harper" I ran back upstairs and opened the door of Chloe's room.

"Hey Chloe, guess what?" I said jokingly.

"What?"

"You're going to sleep at my house, pack your stuff."

"What do you mean? My dad would never allow it" she shook her head and smiled.

"Well, I guess you don't want to come over, even though I already received permission. I'm going now, see - " I pretended to walk out of her door and then she stopped me.

"Oh my gosh, really? You're not lying?" after I gave her my response, she immediately began to pack her clothes and placed them inside a Nike backpack.

When Chloe finally finished packing, I offered to carry her backpack while she carried her purple pillow and a white teddy bear.

"Did you have to bring that" I pointed towards the bear and Chloe jokingly got offended.

"Don't talk to Buttercup like that! It hurts her feelings."

"Okay okay, sorry Buttercup" I said as I patted its head.

Chloe's POV

'Click clank' was the sound of the door being unlocked and out appeared Derick. As soon as the door opened, his eyes widened, lifting up his eyebrows and his mouth was hanging wide open.

"Chloe!" he cheered while running towards me for a hug.

"Hey little guy, did you miss me?" I said

"Derick, where's my hug?" Tyler asked as he went down on his knees and hugged Derick tightly.

"I missed you both!" Derick smiled and was now jumping up and down excitedly.

"Where's grandpa and grandma?" Tyler whispered to his little brother and then Derick pointed to the kitchen.
