So the first week was really great with buster no issues with crying or not sleeping he seemed okay to be honest,i could see no signs of missing my friend and her husband which i was really relieved about but i think the fact we really made a fuss of him might of helped alot,we didn't really give him chance to miss them and also for four years he had to share his owners with other dogs so he didnt really get a one to one with them as my friend had about five dogs at one time and then was breeding puppies so he must of loved all the attention off us.

The only thing i did notice was he would not eat his food that my friend sent with him,it wasn't because he was fretting because he was eating his treats and having the crusts of toast in a morning he  just didn't seem to want it so i started to worry,he had been on dry food all his life before i got him  these greasy pellet things they were, did not look appetising at all if you ask me,it was getting on for a week of him not eating properly and I thought right im going to buy some dog meat and see if he eats it,if he doesn't i'll have to have a chat with my friend about the situation.

So i bought some tinned dog meat, the good stuff we have here not the cheap nasty stuff and tried him with it,I was in shock for the first time in a week he wolfed this food up!!it was so good to see and i thought aww the poor thing has never known what its like to have wet food after having dry all those years,i stood there with great satisfaction that he had a full belly my worries were over.

In my opinion i think dogs should have a variety in there diet and not just eat dry food, imagine if all we ate was dry bland hard food no thanks!!fair enough my friend did tell me wet food can rot dog's teeth which is why she never gave it to her dogs but in five years of having buster and him eating wet food he's only lost one tooth and that is because he's nearly nine years old not because he's eating wet food, his teeth are just fine.

I give buster chicken which he loves as a treat i think all dogs just love chicken!he has scrambled egg once a week as a treat and sometimes rice and chicken although he's gone really fussy now and makes sure he somehow gets the chicken out but leaves the rice!i also get him doggy ice cream from a shop here in england and he loves it!its only a very small tub but its great for dogs in the hot weather its a real treat, also first thing in a morning he sits by my feet waiting for the crusts off my toast,my friend always did that with him too,so yes i went off track a bit here but his first week went better than i could of expected really he was a happy dog so what more could i ask for?he had settled in great.
