Caroline stood in the kitchen, making her friends some breakfast while thinking about what had happened. How was she supposed to live a normal life if she was secretly a wolf? She heard the sheets shifting in Isabella's room, indicating that she was awake. Ever since she had been turned all of her senses were way more intense. She could hear the slightest sound. She could smell the feintest of scents. "Hey, Isabella." Caroline said, without even turning.

"Hi. You're up early."

"It's ten."

"Oh. Well then I'm up early!"

They both laughed and Caroline served her some eggs. Isabella looked down at the floor as Caroline spilled some eggs. "Dammit."

They both crouched down and picked up the eggs and Isabella looked up at Caroline for a moment glanced down then back at her. "What is it?" Caroline said, confused.

"What the hell happened to your leg?"

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. "Umm.. uh. N-nothing! It's um just a uh... scar from uh... a while ago."

"But how did you get it? When did you get it? I've known you since the sixth grade and that was never there!"

"It uh. Has been there for a while."

"But I wanna hear more! What the hell bit you? A bear? A mountain lion! You beat it's ass though right?"

"Okay, look. I'll tell you everything tonight when I get back to the house. I'll tell you and everyone else. I just seriously have to go now."

"Where are you going?" Isabella called after Caroline as she headed to the door.

"I'll have to tell you later. Don't worry about me. Go have fun on the beach with everyone. I'll be back. I promise."

Caroline didn't leave any room for protesting, she ran out the door to the woods. She looked behind her to make sure no one was watching, she undressed, leaving her clothes under a bush, and she shifted. She shook out her long pelt and sniffed the ground, immediately catching Luke's scent.

She followed it through the woods, across rivers, and under logs until his scent became almost overwhelming. She stopped focusing on his scent and looked around. She could see a clearing lit up by lanterns. As she peered through the bushes she could see Luke as he growled at a white wolf. She barked at him and padded away. He stood in the middle of the clearing and howled to get the others to pay attention. About ten others crept out of the shadows and howled back to him. They all surrounded him and he stood tall with authority. "As you all know I've changed another."

"She won't last a minute! You told her nothing. Your efforts will be wasted." The white wolf said.

A wolf with a reddish pelt stepped forwards. "How can we be sure she'll do what we needed of her?"

"I think she'll know how to feel fear and run, Garret."

Garret huffed and sat down. "Now, we must wait. She will lead them away from us and we will then be safe for a while longer."

All of the wolves howled triumphantly. Luke paused and sniffed the air. "We have a visitor!"

Caroline tensed up, heart beating rapidly. He wasn't even looking at her! She calmed down once she realized that he had meant some one else. A man with red hair and green eyes dragged a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes along with him. "It's about time, Mike."

Mike shifted into a huge timber wolf and nudged the woman forward. She was trembling and had tears silently streaming down her pale cheaks. Caroline wanted to help her but she knew she'd be killed on the spot for interfering. "Luke stepped forwards and raised his head high so that everyone could sense his dominance. "Remember. Alpha eats first."

Caroline's stomach churned in disgust. They'd really eat her? She knew they were wolves but she never knew they'd actually eat people like a real pack of wolves in the wild might. Caroline knew this was crazy but there was no way she'd just let this poor girl be eaten alive right in front of her. Luke pounced towards the girl but Caroline was on him in a heartbeat.

She was lucky to be so fast now. She chomped down on Luke's leg and he snarled in pain. Caroline shoved him backwards and he fell down. His pack howled with fury and Caroline ran up to the woman and nodded to her. She climbed onto Caroline's back and she was running in a heartbeat. Caroline felt the girl's grip tighten as the pack howled angrily behind them. They eventually stopped following once Caroline was almost back at the house. They all howled in an ominous unison making chills creep up her spine. She slowed down by the bush where he clothes were. The girl slowly and shakily got off of her back.

Caroline returned to her human form and quickly slipped on her clothes and then turned back to the girl who was looking away. "You can look now."

She turned around and inspected Caroline. "W-what the hell jut happened?"

"Okay, look... I'll explain everything I just need you to trust me. I was planning on telling my friends about myself tonight. Please, just give me a chance to explain."

"Okay. You did just save my life after all."

"Right... I'm Caroline."

"Olivia."
