*Louis' Point of View**
Niall's head was on my shouldering, weighing it down. I opened my eyes slowly to look through the cracks and see what was happening around me. Harry's head was on my stomach, Niall on my shoulder, Zayn was perched on Niall and Harry's legs, and Liam's back was slumped against mine, supporting each others weight. I winced before shrugging, waking up Niall. He moaned in response and rubbed the back of his neck.
"What time is it?" he grumbled.
I coughed and looked around the room. There was a very still bump on the thin mattress of the hospital bed. I wiggled around, not caring that I gave Harry, Zayn, and Liam a very rude awakening.
"-the hell?" Harry mumbled before his head connected with the cold tile floor.
I stood over Lyss' pale body. Her lips were slightly parted. I moved my hand to trace the line of her hair. She didn't move. The thin, baby blue sheets and comforter were stretched out over her, pulling her into the bed. I watched her face, waiting for her. What did I expect her to do? I expected her to open her wonderful eyes, look at me with a smile, and say, "Got you." But that wasn't going to happen.
A hand fell on my shoulder, gripping it. I looked back at Niall. "She looks..."
"Dead." I finished. I didn't cry. I couldn't. All my tears were dried up.
Niall's bottom lip quivered before he sucked in his breath. "I was going to say peacful..."
I turned my head back to Alyssa. Nothing about her seemed alive anymore. Her features were pale and lifeless, there were hollows under her eyes, her bones were almost visible through her thin, paled skin. "It's the truth."
Harry moved towards me, patting my cheek. "She'll be all right, mate. You know how Lyss is..."
I felt my lips start shaking. I shook my head, hanging it off my shoulder. "She won't be able to pull through this, Hazza."
Harry looked hurt. "Yes she will, Louis." His voice was stunned and pained.
"There's no chance of her coming back. None whatsoever." Harry opened his mouth to say something, but I held up a hand. "No, don't fill my head with hopes that she'll just come back to life. She won't! There's no way in hell. I mean, look at her, mate." I pulled in a breath and took a final look at Lyss. Her thick eyelashes lay strone out over bony cheeks. "I think I've finally realized that Alyssa wants out of this. It's to much for her. All those times she wanted out because she couldn't handle it, but I wouldn't let her because having her there with me was soething I couldn't not do. If she left, so would my breath. Now that she's almost gone, I understand. She committed suicide to get away from everything that's happened... since she met me." My breath left my mouth shakily. I eased past the boys, trying not to look at there horrified faces.
"Louis...?" A small voice echoed in my ears. It was so familiar to me. All those times the lips that spoke his name had been pressed against his. I turned my head around to glare at the filled room behind me. Alyssa's voice had called to me. She said my name. The boys watched my face a minute longer before turning back to look at Lyss. She was still against her bed. Nothing had changed.
"Did you hear that?" Niall whispered.
I nodded and walked back over to Alyssa. She hadn't moved, not a single inch. "Alyssa?" I whispered to her. She didn't moved.
"Niall and I aren't the only two that heard Alyssa, are we?" I straightened my back to look at the rest of them.
Everyone shook their heads and said they'd heard it as well. "Well, what the hell was it?" I said loudly.
"Louis, don't shout..." Lyss' voice drifted through my ears once again.
"Alyssa!" I shouted, ignoring her warning.
"Stop shouting..." Her voice was a weak, very light whipser.
I whipped my head around to her body again. She hadn't moved. "What the hell is going on?" I said a bit softer than before.
"Niall, honey, I'm so sorry for what I put you through back at the mansion..." She whispered to the room.
Niall blushed. "Everything's cool. Where are you? Can you see us?"
There was a hushed sigh in the air. "I can see you. I'm not in my body..."
I stumbled back and found my way to a chair, plopping down in it. "Alyssa...?" I begged, putting my head in my hands. There was a cool breeze lingering on both of my cheeks, like Alyssa was holding my face in her hands.
"I'm not going to be able to find my way back, Louis..." She whispered through what sounded like tears.
My chest caved in. I felt my heart breaking and tearing, ripping and burning all at once. "Not..." I tried to say it aloud, but my voice caught in my throat.
A sniffling sound came through the silent room. "The path that I would have used to return to earth has been swallowed, taken down by a very dark force..." She whispered. I felt the chill all over my body now. Alyssa was trying ot comfort me. "I can't find my way back, so I asked to say my goodbyes."
My head lifted urgently. "Goodbyes?" I repeated questioningly.
Harry's eyes were wide, filled with tears. Zayn and Niall held each other. Liam was in shock, leaning against the wall on the door.
"Be thankful." she said a bit weaker this time. "I had to beg to be able to talk to you."
"Beg who? Alyssa, just try to come back." I whispered into my sleeves, coughing and crying.
Alyssa snorted. "You were just about to walk out on me, Lou."
"I was bluffing..." I whispered.
There was a shimmer in the air... a light twinkled in front of me. Alyssa's body was shaped out with small, shining lights. She smiled at me, her image was see through. Her hands were on my face, holding it in place.
"I took my life because I couldn't handle what I'd become... what had happened to me. Not because of you. Meeting you was one of the very few good things that happened in my life." She paused and looked up and out the window. A glimmer of red, orange, and pink twisted past the barrier of the window, in the skies. She turned her attention back to me. "I love you so very much." Her lips pecked mine, there was the slightest feeling of a pressure against my mouth.
She walked over to Niall, kissing his cheek. "You were my very best friend, Niall. I love you."
Harry watched her body as she walked towards his still body. "Harry..." There was the hint of a smile on his lips. Her hand went up and felt his hair. "You need a shower." She whispered. Her image seemed to be flickering. "I can never forget you." She kissed his forehead. Harry squinted his eyes closed, crossed his arms over his chest, and let tears roll over his cheeks.
"Zayn." She smiled and hugged him, sort of. "I didn't get to know you very well, but I hope you have a wonderful life."
Liam's eyes were watery, gleaming with tears. "Liam Payne, is that a tear I see?"
"Hell yes it's a tear." He laughed and put his arms around her figure. "Don't you dare forget about me either, Lyss. I love you."
She nodded and smiled. "I love you, too."
Her image filckered more this time, the lights around her fading. This couldn't be a goodbye. Not forever. Soething felt wrong with it.
"Alyssa..."
