"Hey, faggot." Ally muttered. Normani's least favorite class was chemistry. Not because she hated the subject, she didn't mind it, she only hated chemistry because she sat next to Ally Hernandez.

Normani nodded as she took a seat next to Ally, blowing raspberries softly.

"Alright class—" and that's when Normani stopped paying attention. She felt like someone was whispering to her, maybe God. But it couldn't have been God because the names she was being called were not things God would've said.

"Toe-licker."

"Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Kordei, is there a problem?" Dr. Strange turned to the two girls. Normani's eyes widened.

"No sir, it's just that Normani here has been calling me names all morning long." Ally immediately turned into the victim.

Normani gasped at the accusation. "No, I have not!" Normani protested. "She's the on—"

Dr. Strange cut her off, "there is no need for explanation, Ms. Kordei. Just see me after class for a detention slip." he waved her off.

Normani glared at Ally as Ally laughed under her breath.

It was a bit awkward the first night Normani and Ally spent together. Normani had opted for the couch in the living room, which had just been unwrapped from its plastic. While Normani was in the shower, Ally left a blanket and a pillow on the couch. Overall, the two had a fairly decent sleep.

"What do you want for breakfast?" Ally suddenly asked. The two had been co-existing in the kitchen, Normani sat at the island while Ally organized their cupboards.

"Anything is fine, do you want me to go pick up something?" Normani put her phone down to let it cool off.

"If you want." Ally shrugged.

"I'll go get McDonald's. What do you want?" Normani got up, walking away to grab the keys to her car (which had been dropped off by her mother the day before). Ally stayed silent, not in the mood to yell in the morning.

"Just a plate of pancakes and hash brown." Ally shrugged when Normani returned to the kitchen.

"Okay. I'll be back." Normani walked out of their home. Ally furrowed her eyebrows, that was one of the first times they talked without bickering.

Upon Normani's return, Ally had managed to completely organize all of their cupboards, along with further decorating the dining room.

"Here you go." Normani handed Ally a small McDonald's bag. "Oh, I also got you a bottle of orange juice because you didn't tell me what you wanted to drink, so I just got you whatever." Normani handed Ally the bottle of orange juice she mentioned.

"Th-thanks." Ally took it. Normani nodded with a smile and kept to herself the rest of the time the two ate.

Ally sat next to Normani. Ally would look at her, look away and furrow her eyebrows, and then look back at Normani. She wondered what happened to all of their bickerings. Did Normani suddenly choose to ignore it? Did a switch go off in Normani's mind? What happened?

Ally couldn't decide what it was, so Ally kept to herself.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Normani said subtly, startling Ally. Ally hadn't realized she was staring.

"Sorry." Ally mumbled. She stood up, taking her and Normani's plate with her to the trash.

"What's on your mind?" Normani asked, putting her phone down.
