I woke up and heard movement across the room. "Natalie?" I called out and a voice laughed with the hint of an accent. I say straight up and I faced Liam. "What are you doing here?" I asked him and he grinned.

"Natalie is already in the car," Liam spoke and I was beyond means, confused.

"In the car?" I asked and stood up, adjusting my shorts, remembering that Liam is a male.

"Where on earth are you going?" I asked him and Liam grinned.

"I promised to take Natalie to a haunted house or two. I found a bunch about 3 hours away so I just planned a road trip."

I nodded slowly, pre marriage things I suppose. "So you'll be gone for 4 days?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, she's probably sleeping, so I waited to inform you," Liam told me and I nodded, plopping back down on my bed.

"Well have fun," I lied. I hope they have no fun at all. I can't believe Natalie didn't tell me anything about this.

Liam walked over to the door and grabbed the handle. "Have a good weekend, Katie," he said and I managed a small smile. Liam opened the door and exited shortly, leaving me to sit in my own silence for our whole fall break weekend.

I decided to take a walk around the campus later that day. I began my walk and it was still bright out, but it was chilly fall weather. I bundled myself up with my 'vintage button down coat' and then my Burberry scarf that was a present from my father.

I noticed several couples along the way and I couldn't help but notice their body language. I noticed that some were head over heels for each other. another couple I spotted were clearly in a heated argument with each other, and I almost felt bad for some reason. Arguing just wasn't my way of doing things, never has been.

I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned to see Harry, walking with only a leather jacket and skinny jeans, along with his dark boots. His piercings were basically glittering in this sunlight.

For some reason though, I didn't shut him out, or argue with him. Maybe we just needed some time apart for me to be nice, I hadn't seen him in a week.

"Hey," I said and he grinned.

"Haven't seen you around," he replied and I slowed down for him to catch up a bit.

"I haven't been around," I answered and he nodded.

"Natalie says you've been down," Harry said and I turned to look him in the eyes, and as always, he was already looking into mine.

"I'm perfectly fine," I told him, but I didn't know if that was the truth. Was I down?

Harry shrugged. "I think you've been different since that party."

I shook my head. "Haven't thought about it since it happened."

Harry stopped walking, and I stopped after a moment as well. He turned his head lightly to the side and shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Natalie told me something about that," Harry said in a tone that made him sound intrigued in my history. "Why do you not think much?"

"Everyone thinks."

"Not you," he said and I raised an eyebrow.

"I just don't think, like you would think," I responded and Harry puckered his lips.

"No," he said softly, shaking his head in disagreement. "Something happens, and you just leave it in the past. It's like you're a book," he suggested and I realized I never thought of it like that.

"I read a page and never reflect back on it," I said for him and he seemed amazed.

"How do you do that?"

I shrugged. "Because I don't have any good memories. The only things I think about are horrible moments from my past. Instead I always think about the future," I told him and I felt a burning sensation in my throat. I couldn't believe I was telling him this.

"So you don't think about how we met?" Harry asked and I shrugged.

"Not unless I needed to know something important about what happened when we met," I said with a sly smile and he returned it, starting I walk again.

I followed and the rest of our walk was just small talk. And I realized that maybe. Just maybe, Harry and I could get along.
