Luke parked right in the front of an Applebee's and I was secretly beyond happy to be anywhere besides another frat house, dream or not. We didn't talk much on the way there, but I knew that he would open up once we got inside.
"Do you think I will know anyone here?" I asked as Luke came over to my side and opened the door for me.
"Yeah," he replied, giving me a small smile. I followed him through the doors, and immediately knew I would know people. I could see Violets dark black hair a mile away. My heart sunk when I noticed Harry's arm around the back of her chair. I took a deep breath and continued walking, ignoring my awkward feelings. I knew Harry didn't care. I knew he didn't date. Why did I bother?
"Hey Katie, Luke," Zayn said as Luke guided me to sit down beside him. I sat and I felt the frigid stare of Harry, he was placed directly across from me. I kept my eyes off, and I smiled as he slid me a drink. I almost laughed thinking back on my nightmare. Luke was much too nice to do anything like that to me.
"Funny to see you here," Violet said and Luke laughed.
"I actually invited her, leave Katie be," he said mad I felt him place an arm over the back of my chair. I froze for a moment, but I saw Violet lay on Harry out of the corner of my eyes, and suddenly I didn't feel bad at all. I was sick and tired of Harry's mixed signals.
"So did that EP come out yet?" Niall asked Luke and he nodded.
"Oh yeah, the final song I actually completed yesterday, so hopefully it will be going along well," he said and I turned directly to him.
"You should have told me about that!" I complained and he shrugged.
"It's just music," he laughed mad I rolled my eyes as if to say whatever. Guys who can sing were extremely attractive to me.
"Just music?" I repeated, almost hysterical. "Luke, you should be extremely proud of that career." Violet snorted.
"Its not your career, Luke doesn't have to be so proud as your untalented self would be." I felt Luke's arm tense around the back of my chair. Violet didn't have to be so damn rude all of the time, the only time I have talked to her seems to have been when she is in a horrible mood. I sighed.
"Alright, well I think its cool," I told her and suddenly Harry stood up, slamming his chaor into the table. I jumped a bit, startled by his swift action.
"Babe?" Violet asked him, making my cheeks turn red. I remembered the way I felt as Harry's lips pressed against mine.
"I'm not your babe," Harry snapped and he took long strides, all the way until I watched him disappear out the doors.
"He's just mad because Kay didn't give him a blowjob before he fucked her the other night," Violet spoke while twisting her hair around her thumb and forefinger. The other night? It couldn't have been the night of the bonfire. No.
"Seriously? He got Kay?" Niall questioned, frowning. "I thought she was nice."
Violet snarled. "Nice?" She laughed again. "Then he had Cleo last night, he's making his way around town," she said slowly but surely. My insides flipped around.
I looked at Luke who was kicked back, drinking a beer. I felt my stomach growl, in a negative way. I want to leave.
I looked into my lap groaned, pretending that my phone was ringing.
"You okay?" Luke asked me and I stood up quickly, bringing my phone up near my face.
"I have to take this, it's Natalie," I said, jogging towards the door, leaving them be. I pressed my phone against my ear. "Hello? Sorry," I said, speaking to myself. I opened the door leading outside, and I immediately dropped my phone, shoving it into my back pocket. My heart was racing, why did I even come out here? I smacked my hand against my forehead. This was stupid. I'm stupid. I even heard Violet say that Harry fucked a girl right after I was done with him. I dropped my hand and turned back to the doors, when I abruptly heard someone clear their throat. I know that voice.
"Katherine," Harry's deep accent murmured and I turned on my heels to face him, very slowly. "What are you doing here?" He said and I shook my head, looking down at my little feet.
"Luke asked me to come, and I had nothing better to do than.. study" I admitted and I know Harry was smirking without even looking, he let out a small laugh.
"Live a little"
I looked up and he was indeed smirking right at me. He was so handsome, even his piercings gave him character. "I try."
Harry took a small step closer, enclosing the gap between us. I didn't grab my jacket before I came out here, and I was regretting it as the sun was going down.
"You try?" He asked and I smiled for a split second, still feeling sick about Violets tough call about Harry having sex with all of those girls. I simply nodded and he came even closer to my face.
"Harry," I whispered, but his lips were on mine before I could even get my point across to him.
His lips were warm, leaving my mouth slightly tingling. His tongue raced against mine, making my body feel numb. "Kate," he moaned softly and I wrapped my arms around him as I did the first time, making me smile through our kiss. I tugged the ends of his hair lightly and he moaned, pulling back from me. I hadn't even realized that he placed his hands on my waist. "You're driving me insane," he groaned, kissing my jaw bone a few times, leaving little tingles on my skin, left to dissolve in the air.
I had some type of feelings towards Harry. But I couldn't deal with his bipolar mood swings. He was rude in front of his friends, but he was just wonderful when we were alone.
"Let's go somewhere," Harry suggested, suddenly anxious. I was in such a daze that Harry was standing back, his hands shoved into his jeans pockets. He looked fragile to me. I chewed on my lower lip, thinking.
"I can't just leave," I realized and Harry's green eyes suddenly looked disappointed. The heat inside of my body was still strong, Harry's touch electrified me inside. "Luke brought me," I stated and Harry growled.
"You shouldn't mess with Luke, he's nothing but bad news," Harry hissed and I stared directly into his eyes.
"I think he's nice, and he's my friend."
Harry scowled.
"Stop," I warned and he narrowed his eyes, I realized that he was angry.
"Hang out with him, whatever. But the first time he touches you, don't talk to me again"
My heart froze. "Why?"
"Why?" Harry spit. "How ab-"
"You're allowed to have sex with whoever you want, when you want, but if I decide that I want to talk to Luke, you'll just ignore me for the rest of our lives?" I clarified and Harry balled his fists. I shook my head. "I don't know you, and I never will."
"Don't you walk away," Harry threatened and I threw my arms into the air, it was the only thing I could think to do. But then something came to mind.
"Why can't Luke touch me?" I asked dubiously and Harry looked even more upset.
"Do you really want me to get into that?" He asked in a pissy tone. My heart was racing.
"You're jealous," I finally managed to say with full confidence. This had to be the only explanation for how Harry was acting about Luke.
"Jealous?" Harry started cracking up. "Of what?!"
My heart stopped again, and I felt my cheeks redden. I should have seen this coming. "Of me.. and.. and Luke," I told him and he laughed even harder.
"Knock yourself out," Harry said winking at me, now glancing at his watch. "If you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be," he told me, and with one quick motion, I turned on my heels, strutting back into that restaurant.
I should have never left.
