Chapter 1

I was lost deep in thought as I was being sent to my new home; I was thinking about myself. My name is Ariana, I have golden blond hair that lays down on my shoulders to the bottom of my shoulder blades with matching, piercing emerald eyes. I'm just like any other girl. Expect one thing, I'm a vampire.

I'm one of the few who is a born vampire. I can control my blood thirst unless I go for too long, then my victim is a definite goner.

My life wasn't easy, but it wasn't all hard. My mom killed herself when I was 5. I know, how sad, a vampire killing herself. But she had been bitten by a werewolf so she went crazy. Well, that's what a werewolf bite do to vampires. Sometimes we get along with them, but most of the time not.

After my mom died, my dad became a drinker. He was obsessed with blood and it was the only thing he lived for. Some other vampires hunted him down and killed him.

So all that is left of my family is me and my twin brother, Bishop. We were put into the human foster program and the only reason we are still together is because I have more control over my bloodthirst then Bishop does and I can help him with his. So, thankfully, a few vampires pulled some strings so we weren't separated. My brother and I have been in and out of so many different foster homes that I lost count years ago. Last week was our 15th birthday, we only had three more years in the system.

Bishop's loud yawn brought me out of my deep thoughts.

"Are we there yet?" He asked sleepily, with sleep still heavy in his voice.

I smiled, my brother is such a dork.

"No, we still have a few miles left," said our driver with a kind smile that showed her unnaturally large canine teeth, she was a vampire but her fangs could definitely become sharp and far more deadly then they appeared now.

"Good," I grumbled. I hate long car drives. My grumbling earned me a glare from our driver.

"We'll be there in about 30 minutes so relax!" she growled at me. Vampires hate disrespect, they refuse to have anything to do with it.

I rolled my eyes and got my iPod out and turned it on. I quickly selected the shuffling button and started listening to it, staring blankly out the window. I could still hear Bishop talking with the driver. He flirted with any and every girl though we never stayed in one place long enough to actually have a relationship with someone. So he just flirted with all girls.

I rolled my eyes. I was the complete opposite, I never flirted with anyone. So I just turned my music up more and ignored them. I listened to quite a few song before we arrived. Little did the two of us know that we were going to be completely surprised at our new home.
