It felt so good to be back in wolf form. I hadn't wanted to assume this form since the vampires got to the house; I was afraid that my wolf would lose control and kill one of the vampires. That wouldn't have been good the first day, so it definitely wouldn't be now. I could still feel anger radiating off of Steve, but I shook that off. It was time for a run, and that alone was enough to make me smile.

A dark brown wolf with a sprinkling of dark red hairs throughout his coat padded over to me, causing me to roll my eyes. Of course it was Jaydon. Behind him followed a black wolf and a red wolf-- Mark and Ryan. I really didn't want to socialize with those two idiots right now. They had caused enough of a problem earlier.

Luckily I wasn't left alone with them. Jenni came loping over, her black wolf much more slender and graceful than Mark's. Mark looked sort of like a bear, truth be told. But there was no such thing as a werebear, and so he was indeed a wolf.

"Hey Sera," Jenni's voice resonated in my head, the way any other of the pack member's would have. "I've heard that my brother's been spending nights in your room."

"Yeah, but he's been sleeping on the floor," I said, not wanting Mark and Ryan to get any foolish ideas into their heads. Just then we started to run. The run felt amazing after not being out for a few days, and none of us were in the mood for talking.

Thankfully I could choose to hide my thoughts from the rest of the pack if I wished. And right now I was, because I was thinking about my earlier encounter with Bishop. I hadn't been in that great of a mood when I ran into him; Steve getting ticked and yelling at us usually has that effect on me. Besides, he looked like a player and I hated players. I mean, sure, Jaydon probably could have been a player, but he pretty much ignored every girl unless he felt that they were super hot or super nice, and I didn't think he was as bad as this Bishop kid.

I stretched my long limbs out in the same pattern over and over again, the rhythmic thudding of our feet carrying me onward. I banished all thoughts of anything other than this sheer freedom from my mind as I kept going. I didn't need to be entertaining thoughts of that vampire boy when I could accidentally slip up and let the others hear them.

I cast a quick glimpse up at the night sky. Stars sprinkled its black velvet like sparkling little gems, with the moon topping them all of. Tonight it was more orange than usual, so very beautiful. I gazed up at it, until I forgot that I was running and accidentally bumped into Jaydon, causing him to look back and roll his eyes at me. I tipped my muzzle up to the moon, and he obviously got my message, even if he didn't understand why I always got so captivated by it while we were running.

We tore through a patch of evergreen trees, emerging through them into a clearing, much of which was taken up by a pool which a tall waterfall continuously spilled into. There was a perfect reflection of the sky captured in the pond, the sky and everything else perfect. We stopped to take a drink, but at a command from Steve not to jump in and start swimming we didn't, no matter how tempting it was. Of course, that didn't stop Jaydon and Mark from splashing Jenni and me, earning themselves a sharp glare but no other retaliation as we weren't in the mood to get ourselves into trouble with the alpha again.

After we had all gotten a good drink and after Peter had shown Ariana around we ran back to the cars, all of us feeling much happier now. The tension that had hung tightly around us after the conflict about the vampires, and more specifically about Ariana being our future luna, had now broken up and we were all laughing as we piled back into the cars. Soon we were back and crawling into our beds, finally ready for a good night's sleep.
