"Where are your kids now?" Ron asks Hermione, who seems to be looking over her shoulder every so often as if she thinks that she's being watched or followed. "'Mione? Do you want to go back to the Burrow to talk about this?"
"Huh? Uh, yeah, that sounds good." She answers, sounding to be completely out of it, and it is clearly worrying all of us.
All of us quick apparate to the Burrow, Hermione arriving a few moments after everyone else, and we all decide to go and sit inside in the living room. All of us shoo Cami and Lily upstairs to play. Or do whatever as long as it's not against the rules that Harry and Ron have set for their two children.
"Where are your kids, 'Mione?" Harry asks when we all know that the kids are upstairs and can't hear what we're talking about.
"With Hank, in America." Hermione answers and she almost sounds guilty, for whatever reason. "It's a dumb decision, I know, but I had to leave and everything happened so fast. I need to go home and get them, as soon as possible."
"All of us will go with you for support incase Hank tries anything." Ron says, and I know that all of us are opposed to going if it means that Hermione and her kids will be safe as they get their stuff an move back to where Hermione truly belongs.
"No, no, I can't ask that of you guys. I shouldn't expect to come back and have all of you just drop everything to help me." Hermione refuses and I think that the rest of us can tell that she thinks that she's being a bother.
"Yes you should expect that because that's what friends do." I say, wanting to remind her that not all people are scumbags. "And all of us here are your friends, hell, just because we don't have the same last name or are related by blood we're still family. Every single one of us in this entire house are family, and helping a loved one getting out of an all over crappy and unhealthy relationship or working conditions whatever it may be are what families do. We stick together like glue when life goes south, don't forget that."
"Thank you, Ginny. Well Matilda and Ben don't start school until next Thursday so we could go get them and have them quickly enrolled into Hogwarts by tomorrow morning. And Lav is only nine and I homeschool her so, that will sort itself out." Hermione suggests and she still is showing signs that she thinks that she doesn't deserve our help, and her acting like this makes me want to hex Hank so much so that when I'm done with him he'll look like a large pile of rubbish.
"Yeah, let's go." Ron says before holding both arms out, so all of us can apparate together, as only Hermione knows where her and Hank live with their kids in America.
"What about the kids?" Hermione asks as she grabs onto Harry's left arm and my right.
"They're fine, lets just do this quickly, yeah?" Harry suggests as all of us are now connected by a circle of forearm grabbing.
"Let's go." Hermione says before we all feel and hear the pop of apparate and we all know that we have come to the right place as when we arrive we can hear Hank screaming at someone from the other room.
"What do you mean that she apparated?" Hank screams from what seems to be the room next door on the left.
"Sitting room." Hermione says, and I assume she's referring to where Hank is currently.
"I mean that she apparated, it's not that hard to follow." A teenage girls voice answers and I can hear the eye roll from here, and I assume that it's Matilda who said that.
"Mattie." Hermione uses the nickname Blaise and I have Matilda when she was a baby before they moved out to America.
"Don't give me attitude or you'll regret it." Hank snaps, and I can hear the anger and malice in his voice.
"The only person that will be regretting something here is you." Ron says with a hostile tone as we all show Hank that we're there.
"Who a-oh. Your Hermione's friends from Hogwarts, right?" Hank says before scoffing loudly. "Me regret something? And what on earth will that be? Red head?" Hank spits back at Ron and he reminds me of of Draco was actually a complete piece of shit.
"Abusing your wife and most likely your kids as well." Blaise says angrily from behind me, as he has always had strong feelings of hate for people who intentionally try and hurt their friends and family.
"What proof do you have?" Hank says, trying to remain confident but I can see some cracks beginning to work their way into his façade.
"Four of them are in this room." Harry says, pointing at Hermione, Matilda, Benjamin and Lavender. "And all of us if you want to count witnesses."
"Witnesses? Of what?" Hank says, his wall quickly beginning to crumble away, revealing his truly despicable and embarrassing self.
"Your abuse you scumbag." Ron says as the three kids get up from their seats and run to Hermione and engulf her in one giant hug.
"Let's go." Hermione says, leading her children who all look at the brink of tears to the doorway of the room.
"Where will you go?" Hank asks, raising an eyebrow and smirking, as if he knows something that the rest of us don't. "Everything that you have is here, with me."
"I'm going where I belong." Hermione says before apparating out of the house with a loud pop.
