"Can you pass me the remote?" You ignored Tom's request, continuing to watch the bad show on TV – you'd rather watch it than give Tom what he wanted. "(Y/N)?" Not 'babe', not 'darling', not 'my love', he called you by your name. You rolled your eyes, finding his voice annoying. "You're not serious," he mumbled. He slid closer to you, "Stop being grumpy. It's lame." You looked at him incredulously, pushing him away from you.

"I'll stop being grumpy when you stop acting like an ass."

"What?"

"You heard me," you got up, walking away while saying over your shoulder, "don't be an asshole. Asshole." You mumbled the last word, walking into your room, hearing him groan in annoyance, feeling like you'd won.

Tom and you had been arguing just a few hours ago, it resulted in him storming out and returning two hours later. You remained on your couch, pretending like you hadn't spent those couple of hours crying and calling him, trying to make sure he was alright while he angrily (and stupidly) walked the streets alone at one in the morning. Once he returned home, and you saw that he was safe, your anger returned, intensified. You had both promised each other to never walk out during an argument that was left unresolved – especially not so late at night.

You went into the bathroom and got ready with your nightly routine, washing your face, changing and then brushing your teeth. Once you finished, putting your toothbrush in its holder, you walked out only to bump into Tom on the way to the bed. "Excuse me," he mumbled, going around you. You moved out of his way and allowed him to walk in before you walked out. He hadn't even tried to apologize – apologize for not returning your calls, texts, for starting the stupid argument to begin with. You walked over to your side of the bed and slid in, positioning yourself as far away from Tom as you could get.

Tom walked out, turning off the restroom light, seeing you on the bed. He sighed, walking over to shut off the light in the bedroom, cursing under his breath when he tripped over the discarded clothing all over his room as he made his way to the bed. He slipped in beside you and did what he usually did – wrapped his arm around your middle. What he wasn't expecting was for you to shove him off. "What the hell?"

"Don't touch me. We're fighting." He groaned, getting up, cursing louder as he fell on his knees from tripping over the same clothes. He turned the light on and threw his hands up in frustration.

"How long is this gonna go on? Stop being pissed at me!"

"Are you serious?" You sat up, still sitting on the bed. "You left after an argument you started – but you're mad at me for still being a little annoyed with you?" He shrugged. "You broke our promise, Tom!"

"For fuck's sake! I said I was sorry!" Your eyes widened, shaking your head.

"That's the thing!" You shouted, standing up from the bed. "You didn't apologize!" You ignored your voice shaking, pushing yourself to get through this speech. "You just decided you were done and walked out, Tom. What the hell is that? I called you, I texted you – it was one in the fucking morning! What if you were hurt?" His eyes softened, his posture falling slightly. There were tears that had already fallen, causing you to roughly wipe them away, mad at yourself for crying. "You're such an asshole," you sobbed, your head going into your hands.

"Baby," he mumbled, rushing over to you and hugging you, "sh, sh." he cooed. "I'm okay, we're okay." You allowed him to hug you, because you needed comfort, but it didn't lessen your anger.

"You can't just hug me and think everything's okay." You whispered. He shook his head.

"Of course not, I'm an ass. I'm sorry." He sighed, sitting you both gingerly on the bed. "We'll stay up and talk about it all you want – or we'll wait until morning." He brushed the tears away from your eyes, a lot softer than your hands were. "Whatever you want." You nodded, finally feeling you guys were okay.
