#3: Island Experience

Kamine Island

Suzaku woke up and felt the sand on his face. His body feels tired being washed in the ocean for the night. Drops of water flowed in his face. "Suzaku? Are you okay?", he heard a familiar voice. "Sa...phi...ra?", he blinked for sometime and sat straight. He looked around and saw that they're in an island. Saphira sighed and sat a rock. "Why..are you here?", Suzaku asked. "I also wonder why", Saphira smiled. "I'm so fortunate that I'm not alone. I picked some fruits at the forest. Also checked whether they are edible", Saphira passed them to Suzaku. "I don't have... Zero!", Suzaku remembered. "Yeah. You lost him. The Avalon shot the two of you but you were able to leave. While I was walking around the forest, I got carried off by your Knightmare", Saphira explained.  Suzaku saw a wound on her shoulder. "You are wounded", Suzaku rushed and examined the wound. "I'm not blind or numb. I can see it and I can feel it", Saphira slightly twisted in order not to face the man. 

"Let's go look for herbs ", Suzaku led the way. "Are you a medic? Why would I trust your prescription?", Saphira sighed. "When the war broke, I spent days and nights with Lelouch looking for help. We managed to decipher which is a poison and which is helpful. Trust me okay, Saphira", Suzaku changed his tone into a serious one. "Then I'd rather get poisoned that to get infection", Saphira stood up and followed him. "Why are you in the battefield, Saphira?", Suzaku clenched his fist. "I guess I can't hide it from you. Suzaku, I am Euphemia's personal aid", Saphira introduced herself. 

After sometime, they walked inside the island. "I see you're Euphemia's precious knight", Saphira said while watching the guy's back. He seems to be reliable plus his talent in manuevering a Knightmare is exemplary. "I was supposed protect her and here I am. What really happened during that fight?", Suzaku sounded confused. Saphira just shrugged. They both ended at a spring.  Suzaku held her hand and placed her behind him. "Kallen?", Suzaku asked seeing her bathing herself. Saphira covered his eyes and threw Suzaku's coat to Kallen. "You shouldn't be taking a bath anywhere", Saphira sighed and also felt disappointed.  A sickly girl wouldn't make it in an isolation Island alone. Judging with the turn out of events, there was only one theory in Suzaku's mind. "Kallen, you are a black knight", Suzaku bit his lips. Kallen wore her clothes and was handcuffed by Suzaku. Saphira's stomach growled. "Oh, sorry. I guess this surprises are making me feel hungry", Saphira tilted her head and sat down the rock. Suzaku removed his upper clothes. He dived in the river to catch fishes.

"Kallen, I knew you were lying back at school", Saphira sat beside her. "Hmfft. My cover had been removed. I guess I just have to stop going to school", Kallen pouted. "Lets go straight to the point, Kallen. Why are you part of the Black Knight?" Saphira informed. "Why? Because our home was stolen. Our identity was trampled down", Kallen looked at Saphira with pair of eyes filled with bitterness. "Black Knight is led by  Zero.  We will not lose this time. We are the ones who's going to save the oppressed", Kallen explained. "Done, let's grill it now", Suzaku said while gathering the fishes. "Who are the oppressed, Kallen?" Saphira feeds Kallen since her hands are handcuffed. "That was a nice picnic", Kallen said. "You're more attractive when you're this active at school", Suzaku commented. Kallen blushed and Saphira chuckled. "You shouldnt go flirting with other girls when you already have one", Saphira clicked her tongue. "But then.. you can still go back to who you were. Kallen, you're a britanian arent you? They will forgive you if you just stop being a black Knight", Suzaku broke the moment. "I am not a full Britaninan. My name is Kallen Kouzaki. I'm not just a Britanian, I am also Zero's personal guard", Kallen said proudly. "I decided to work inside the system. With that, I am going to protect my people without having to sacrifice more lives", Suzaku explained. "Okay. Okay the both of you. Let's go to sleep now. I can see the rescue team is here. Lets save some energy for a hiking tomorrow", Saphira pushed the two to lie down. Kallen is already fast asleep while Saphira is watching the two of them. She sat down the log and watch the sky. "I dont think anyone of you are mistaken", Saphira whispered in the air. "Saphira... cannot sleep?", Suzaku asked. "Sorry that I cannot find a comfortable place to stay", Suzaku sat down and apoligize. "Rest well, Suzaku. I'll be fine plus, I hope my secrets remained uncover for now",  Saphira said. Suzaku nodded and dragged Saphira down. "You can lay your head on my lap. That's the only thing I can do now. Just like the old days", Suzaku smiled down. Saphira felt a sharp pain on her head but just kept it on herself.

The Next Day

Zero and Euphemia also got stucked in the island. They saw the light and hiked towards the top of the mountain. The five of them met at the way. "Princes Euphemia?", Suzaku asked. Zero pointed the gun on her. "Follow as I command", he whispered to the princess. "Let's exchange hostage", Zero said. He looked intently and saw Saphira. "What is another girl doing with you?", Zero asked. "She was washed here with us. Now give me Princess Euphemia", Suzaku said. Kallen grabbed unto Suzaku cause she was able to untie her cuffs. The ground broke and the four of them fell. Saphira looked down and saw that there were soldiers. In addition to that, Prince Scheniezel is also there. Zero spotted a nightmare and stole it allowing him and Kallen to escape.

Avalon

"Brother, you're here", Euphemia said in glee. The three of them were gathered inside his room. "Im glad that the two of you are fine. By the way, I hope you keep this as a secret to your father", Scheneizel pleaded to Saphira. "Yes, your highness", Saphira answered. "Dont be too formal with me. Saphira, I want you to feel that you belong to the family", Scheneizel cupped her face.  "What would happen to Suzaku?", Euphemia asked. "Well, he'd be undergoing some trial", Scheneizel answered.

G-1

"I don't care, I'm going to live!!!". A voice record from Suzaku. "Did I really say that?", he asked. "You are under arrest for not being able to obey the commands. You are under observation for a week", Darlton informed.

Saphira entered the interrogation room and saw Suzaku's wound. "Your-", Darlton was about to bow when Saphira glared at him. "What is your plan for Kururugi Suzaku?", Saphira sat on the table. "He would be executed once proven guilty of treason", one of the soldier's answered. "I see. Why not now? It's clear that be betrayed an order", Saphira looked at Suzaku's emerald eyes. They were prepared of any consequences. "But, take responsibility of all the military aid that he was able to contribute", Saphira smiled sarcastically and looked at Darlton. He gulped and took the key. He uncuffed Suzaku. 

The two were led out of the unit. "Who are you and how...", Suzaku felt pain on his stomach. "Sir Lloyd and Miss Cecil will be waiting for you at the gate. I'm just returning a favor", Saphira explained.

Lelouch's Room

"I failed again!! Suzaku, he's been pushing me to the limit",  Lelouch threw his suitcase. "Calm down", C.C said while eating Pizza. "Plus, you already used your gease on Suzaku. How are you suppose to make him as one of your pawns?", C.C asked. "I..", Lelouch stopped talking. "Its because of friendship, pride and conscience", C.c reminded. Lelouch's door opened. "Brother, you've been leaving these days. Are you having some problem?", Nunally asked.
