*One day, while exploring the forbidden forest*
Gryffindor: Well we need a school motto.
Hufflepuff: Ooh, what about "Hugs for all"? Or "we love you"? Or-
Ravenclaw: "Be wise and you won't be malaise"? "Clever is better"? Or-
Gryffindor: Wait, what does malaise even mean?
Ravenclaw: It means sad, Godric. Like your vocabulary.
Slytherin: Well, none of them seem right. We need something phenomenal. Awe-inspiring. Striking fear into the hearts of those who dare cross us.
Hufflepuff: Shh! A dragon!
Gryffindor: REALLY WHERE
Ravenclaw: Shut up Godric you don't want to wake the dragon. Look, it's sleeping. And how can you miss it anyway? It's gigantic!
Gryffindor: IMMA TICKLE IT
Slytherin: Please, say you're joking. It's a sleeping dragon, Godric. No matter how good your magical ability (which I might add, is nothing compared to mine) you can't avoid being fried alive.
Gryffindor: WELL I BET I CAN DO IT BECAUSE I'M BETTER THAN YOU HIYAHHH
*Gryffindor runs towards the dragon silently*
Slytherin: Well I can probably do it too. Way better.
*Slytherin runs after Gryffindor*
Hufflepuff: No! Boys! Never tickle a sleeping dragon!
Ravenclaw: They'll learn. One day.
Hufflepuff: Wait, what is "never tickle a sleeping dragon" in Spanish?
Ravenclaw: No le hagas cosquillas a un dragón dormido. Why?
Hufflepuff: Um. No reason. What about in Latin?
Ravenclaw: Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus. Can you tell me why?
Hufflepuff: It just sounds like an important life lesson, is all. That sounds like a really good motto.
Ravenclaw: Our students will know never to tickle a sleeping dragon...
Hufflepuff: Exactly. Do you know how many witches and wizards die each year due to tickling-dragon injuries?
Ravenclaw: Did you just make up a statistic?
Hufflepuff: Well, at least two by the way Godric and Salazar are going.
*Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff listen to the faint screaming of two ambitious wizards*
Ravenclaw: Oh, all right.

FanfictionI wonder what the four founders were thinking when they wrote the school song. Four greatest wizards and witches, and it starts with "Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts"? Did Dumbledore come up with that?
