I log onto my laptop, realising I haven't been on it in a while. Seeing Skype notifications, I click on it and find a group chat created by Cressida creatively called "summer" with Cassandra, Kiara and I added to it. They sent multiple pictures and said they were having a great time. Kiara in response told them about Asher, as well as my future boyfriend and new friends. I scowl at the future boyfriend part.
Pfft as if. Lucas and I. The reformed player and the love cynic. Yeah right. As if a guy like him would fall for a girl like me. He's probably been with loads of hotter and more... experienced girls. Why would he ever fall for plain old me?
Bloody hell get a fucking grip Rae you've only known him a couple of weeks.
My phone alerts me someone has sent me a text. Wow that's a first.
Jesse: Raiden's boyfriend Jordan is throwing a party tonight. Wanna come?
Me: Sure. What time and where?
Jesse: Lucas and I will pick you up at 7:30 so we can help Jordan set up.
Me: Sounds great! Cya then
Jesse: Cya!
My heart flutters at the thought of seeing Lucas again. It has only been a few days since I last saw him.
Yeah I know: I need to get a grip.
I head towards the bathroom and shower, pluck my eyebrows and blow dry my hair so it falls nicely.
Back in my room I decide on my outfit: a short denim skirt that reaches my mid thighs, a lace up fitted black top and black wedges.
Just as I've completed the finishing touches to my makeup, a car horn blares outside. As my parents are out I just send a text to both saying I'm going for a sleepover at Jesse's. If they don't tell me the truth about things, why should I?
I lock the door and head towards the car, climbing in the backseat. "Hey guys."
Jesse turns her head to smile at me. "Hey Rae! You look hot! Doesn't she Lucas?" She nudges him with a pointed look on her face.
In the rearview mirror, Lucas eyes me up and down. I take the opportunity to do the same to him: he's clad in dark grey jeans and a navy shirt which clings to his lean frame. He looks hot. Damn him.
Lucas's voice stops my internal rant. "Yeah she does. Your clothes look good. Guess where they'd look even better?"
"God please don't-" Jesse groans.
"On my bedroom floor." Lucas winks.
I smile sweetly. "I know where yours would look even better."
Lucas's eyes fill with excitement. "Where?" He eagerly asks.
Seductively, I lean forward and whisper in his ear just loud enough so Jesse can hear. "Wrapped around your neck as I strangle you."
Jesse roars with laughter as I sit back in my seat, smirking victoriously at the shocked expression on Lucas's face. "Ooohhhh would you like some ice for that burn?" Jesse snickers.
Lucas glares at me in the rearview mirror and mouths "You'll get punished for that."
Kinky. No goddammit Rae get your dirty mind out of the gutter.
We arrive at Jordan's house and before we even reach the driveway, the door flies open and Raiden runs out and grabs Jesse, swinging her around. "JESSE BEAR!"
Callan appears behind, glaring at Raiden. "Get your hands off my girl."
"Now now no need to be jealous Callan. She can't satisfy him the way I can." A guy I don't recognise leans against the doorframe, lips twitching in amusement. He has jet black hair and brown eyes that are filled with love as he stares at Raiden.
