Chapter 30

Night fell upon us and we decided to stop to sleep, in the morning we would reach the fortress. We stopped and made a campfire. I changed into my black jeans, with one of Aiden's shirt. It smelled really good. The boys and I were talking about our adventure and how much they learned. Especially the boys, they have elements now. I told them about me seeing Ms. Optus, when I passed out. They were amazed and happy I'm the reason why they have their elements. Lucas was especially happy, since he's alive because I kept trying to get to him.
"Well, tomorrow you'll get the seed and then defeat the beast. You ready?" Aiden asked me. I was eating some cookies Autumn's mom made.
"Yeah. I just want to keep my promise, you know?" I bite into the cookie.
"What will you do after the battle?" William catches me off guard. I swallow hard.
"Uh.. I don't know. I haven't thought about it." I shrugged. But I was lying, I been thinking about it a lot. What's gonna happen, after the war? William looks like he's thinking, then nods his head. Everyone gets quiet. Okay that was awkward. I decide to change the topic quickly.
"So Lucas, you'll meet the king and queen tomorrow. Are you nervous?"
"No, well maybe a little." He pushed his curly hair back.
"Well they'll probably happy they have a prince to rule the kingdom one day you know. After me of course." I flip my hair, pretend I have a crown on and we all laugh. Okay good, now no more awkward moments. We finish our food and end up falling sleep. Looking at the stars. It was Aiden, Lucas, me, and then William and trust me, they argued until I threatened to put them in a tree. They ended up falling asleep. I was laying there, looking at the stars. The sky had thousands or even more small lights shining, lighting up the night. The world looked peaceful and I was going to make sure it stayed like this forever. Suddenly I heard William move, when I turn to him. He was really close to me. His eyes sparked in the night, he took his hand and pushed his back smiling at me showing me his dimples.
"Come with me." He put his hand out. I looked back at Aiden and Lucas, they were still sleeping. "It will be quick princess." I grabbed his hand and then we got up and headed somewhere in the forest. He held my hand the whole time and I was just letting him lead me somewhere. After a few minutes of walking we were at a cliff. I immediately backed up, but when I did I bumped into William. His hands gripped my waist and I turned to him.
"Thanks.. but why did you bring me here?" He smile and points to the sky. I turn around and see green, blue, purple lights running across the sky. It looked absolutely beautiful.
"I wanted to thank you for this adventure. Ever since you showed up here, you changed people." I smile at him.
"I changed people?"
"LeTar didn't really laugh before you came you know." He chuckled a little. "Aiden changed ever since his dad died too, but you brought him back." I smiled at his response. I did change people here and they changed me too.
"You also changed me princess." My eyes meet William's, when he said that.
"I did?" He grabbed my hands and I felt warmth from them.
"You made me realize fighting for a purpose pushes you move. And also that when there's a competitor after your love you must fight to win." He winked at me. I laugh at his answer. His 'love'? That's how he's feels about me. How do I feel about him? I felt something when I looked at William. He was strong brave, handsome and honestly sweet. And only 17? Man, why couldn't all boys be like him?
"You changed me too William. Everyone here has and thank you for bringing me here and accompanying me on this trip." I hug him and he returns it. His scent lingered on me even after the hug was over. We sat on the cliff and watched the sky for awhile. As we were sitting there, a question popped in my head.
"William?" He turns to face me. "Why do you always call me princess?" He smirked and looked up at the sky.
"Well because I want you to be my princess." I saw the smile on his face and a look in his eye. "And also, when my mother was alive, my father would call her princess all the time even though it wasn't her name and plus she was the queen. He said she was the best thing that happened to him, so he cherished her." My eyes began watering, William is such a romantic. He turned to me and noticed a tear escaped from my eyes. He took his hands and wiped it away.
"No more crying alright, you're too pretty." I laughed at his statement and nodded. We stared back at the sky for awhile. Thank you William I needed this.

I woke up back at the campfire with all the boys. All three of them were sleeping, they looked really cute. I stretched and inhaled the forest smells. If I had allergies, I would be dying right now. I looked up to the sky through the tree tops, it looked kinda of gray. Is it gonna rain? If it is we should probably get moving. I wake up the boys, which wasn't easy but after I by "accidentally" dump water on them, they're wake and ready to moving. Lucas dried them and himself off, how convenient having the air element. We ate and then continued on our way. It was a couple of hours until we got there. While we were riding through the forest, I started thinking. I was thinking about thing, what was I going to do after the war. I will I stay here in with my parents and be the princess or will I return home and just be a normal kid. I can go back and fourth but it wouldn't feel the same. I'll guess I have to make the decisions when the time comes. We continues riding, it was a little bit after noon.

"How much longer princess?" William asked me. I was about to answer when suddenly we all saw it. The fortress. It was a small building made of stone. It had tree branches growing on, and it looked like no one been here in years. We hoped off our horses and tied them up. As we walked towards the building, my necklace started glowing. Ms. Optus said once I got here I would know what to do and I think I do.
"Come on, we need to get inside." The boys nodded and followed behind me. As we walked in the building it was dark, but suddenly lanterns that were in the walls lit up. I looked at Aiden.
"That wasn't me." Aiden raise his hands up. "I think it's you." He points at my necklace, it's glowing even brighter. We continue walking down a hallway, we stopped when we saw a doorway. I push on the door and it creaks up, relieving a room with markings on the floor and walls. It's lit up as I walked in. There was a triangle shape on the middle of the floor. One corner had a fire symbol, then next one had a water symbol and the last one an air symbol. And in the middle of the triangle was a diamond. It looked it my necklace.
"I guess we stand there?" William asked. I nodded and we walked on to our spots. At first nothing happened, but suddenly the walls of the room brighten. The spot where Aiden stood turned his corner of the room red, where William stood turned his corner blue and where Lucas stood turned white. Then me, my light turned purple. We were staring at what was gonna happen next. As we looked around, I began levitating. I was being lifted in the sky. That's when a felt a sharp pain go through my body. I let out a scream and my eyes began feeling heavy. I see the boys trying to get to me, but they can't move their feet.
"What's going on?" I Lucas yells. I begin start to feel sleepy and before I can't even tell, I close my eyes.
