"Uh, hello to you too." Chloe says.

"May I sit?" He asks. He's a tall man, with long, dark black hair, pulled back into a ponytail. He's kind of tanned, wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black flannel shirt over that. He has a necklace with a prominent bear claw emblem on it. "I apologize, I should probably introduce myself. My name is Padooa, which translates to Bear in English. I overheard your conversation with that woman, and I would like to talk to you two about the storm, and time travel." I just sit there staring at him.

"Umm, sure, you can sit down, I guess."

"Thank you, young lady." He takes a seat right next to Chloe, who's mouthing something along the lines of why did you do that? "As you may have figured out from my name, I am from a Native American tribe indigenous to the Oregon area. My tribe speaks of a female with strange powers, who ultimately causes a storm that will destroy the land." He says. Is he talking about me? Am I that female?

"Is that like a prophecy or something?" Chloe asks. He nods.

"Yes. It's an old prophecy that's been around for hundreds of years. I heard about that storm down in Arcadia Bay, and I knew it had something to do with it."

"Does your tribe have a solution to this?" I ask.

"The rest of my tribe is gone, and they have been for some time. It is only me." He's a one man tribe.

"What happened to your tribe?" I ask.

"The same thing that happened to all of the other tribes in America: slaughtered, killed by disease. But that's not important now. This storm can end the world. That one in Arcadia wasn't the first one. There will be more and more, until the giant one appears, and destroys everything." And this is all-because of me? Why me? Out of everyone in this world, why does it have to be me? The man pulls a flask from his shirt pocket and unscrews it. He takes a large sip out of it, then screws it back up. "Did you, want some?" He asks.

"No thanks." I say. It's kind of early to be drinking. Of course, talking about the end of the world seems like something drink-worthy.

"What is it?" Chloe asks.

"Whiskey. Some special stuff I made." He says. Chloe nods.

"I'll take some of that." He smiles and hands her the flask. She unscrews it and takes a big sip.

"Damn dude, that's strong. You're good." She says. He laughs.

"You should have tasted my father's whiskey. That man would make the strongest stuff you'd ever tasted."

"Sounds like a good man." Chloe says.

"He was. He wrote a book about this prophecy. I believe it's in the library here. Within that book, he spoke of the female with the strange abilities saving the world from this storm." I can't save the world, I'm only Max Caulfield, the hipster photographer.

"Did he say how?" I ask. He shakes his head.

"No, nobody knows how. Nobody knows if she really can save the world. It's a prophecy for the end of the world; I suppose the part after that has yet to be written. He does speak of demons, haunting the hero. One demon in particular, a restless one, won't stop haunting this female until she is in its control." Are we really in danger then? "Now, I need to know, do you have these strange powers?"
Tell the truth/Lie

(Truth) "Yes, I do. I found out I could go back in time a few days ago. Ever since then, everything's been crazy." I say. Chloe nods.

"Yeah, I can attest. She even proved she could." I never thought Chloe would have asked me the number of cigarettes in her pack, but she did. I'm glad I actually payed attention to that. He nods.

"How many times have you reversed time?" He asks. Fuck, I don't know. A lot, I would imagine.

"I don't know."

"Did you fix anything drastic? Like stop someone from dying, for example?"

"I stopped Chloe from being shot. That was like right after I figured out I could. Someone was going to shoot her, but I rewound time and saved her."

"Did saving me cause all of this?" Chloe asks. He shakes his head.

"I don't think so, as she was able to rewind time before she saved you." He sighs. "But who knows though. This whole prophecy is shrouded in mystery." I can totally agree with that. I have no idea how I got these fucking powers. They've definitely done more harm than good, of it's true that I caused the storm.

"So we don't know what caused this, what it really is, or how to stop it?" Chloe asks. I nod.

"That's the way it seems." She shakes her head.

"Fuck dude, I'm gonna need some more alcohol then."

(Lie) I shake my head no. Maybe I shouldn't have lied to him, but stuff like this shouldn't be gossiped about. Plus, I don't even know this man, we may not be able to trust him.

"You don't have these powers? Well, pray to whatever you believe in that whoever this lady is with the powers is ok, and stays ok. If she dies, then the whole world will end, as she's the only one capable of saving it." This is really fucking weird. According to this guy, people have prophesized about me and my purpose in life? Chloe shoots me a look of disapproval. Chloe Price is disapproving of me lying? This must really be serious.

The man suddenly gets up.

"I have to go. Goodbye. Be careful out there." He walks outside and towards the road. He disappears into thin air.

"Whoa, what the fuck?" Chloe says. "Am I high or something? You saw that too, right Max?"

"Yeah, I did. He just disappeared. Maybe he just left when we weren't looking or something."

"No, that can't be it. He just fucking disappeared. This is all too crazy, Max. We need to get outta here; out of this state." I have an idea.

"What if we went to my parents' house?"  Chloe nods.

"That-that sounds good. We just need to leave Oregon."
...............
"You know where they live? Like, how to get there?" Chloe asks.

"We just have to get to Seattle first." Chloe drives onto the road.

"So, you think your parents will recognize me?" I smile.

"How could someone forget Chloe Price?"

"I'm a new Chloe Price. They only know the old Chloe Price."

"I'm sure they'll like this version of you. I do." I say. She smiles.

"Thanks Max, but you're the only one, besides Rachel. I don't think even mom liked the new me."

"Your mom loves you no matter what, and you know that."

"I know Max. I just wish she were still here." It becomes silent. "...So, ready for Seattle?"

"I'm always ready for something new." I say. Seattle, here we come.
