PIDGE and Amal spent the rest of the night sleeping their injuries off. Although back on Earth the latter had always been the big spoon, for some reason Pidge insisted that Amal be the little for once. The Green Paladin just wanted to hold Amal, to make up for those times they were away from one another.

In the morning a knock sounded from the door, and an upbeat voice called out. "Hey, you guys decent?"

Amal's eyes drifted open, and for once she felt refreshed and not dreading to wake up. She could sense her girlfriend moving behind her, and then sit up. "Yeah, Lance!" Pidge answered groggily.

The automatic door slid open, and Lance stepped inside. He was already dressed in his normal clothes, indicating that it was morning, maybe even around noon. Despite this, Amal noticed how tired he still looked, but decided not to ask.

"We're gonna meet up soon, see what we know about the Shadow," he informed, before looking to Amal who was still lying down. "Oh, and Janiorce was asking about you."

A small squeak escaped from Amal as she bolted out bed, dashing past Lance and out of the room. Amal was usually the one to wake Janiorce up and comfort him if he ever had nightmares. Today was the first day Janiorce would have woken up without his best friend hovering over him.

It wasn't until five minutes later that Amal had no idea where she was. The castle was huge, way bigger than Amal could comprehend. Not only that, but now she was wandering around in only boy shorts and a t-shirt.

"Good morning, Amal," a voice sounded from behind her. Amal whirled around to find the Black Paladin in his casual clothes, smiling. "You look lost."

Amal sighed sheepishly, and nodded in response. "Lance said Janiorce was looking for me, and I, uh... kind of just ran off with no info."

"Oh, Janiorce is in the kitchen with Hunk," Shiro informed. Amal glanced both ways down the hallway, before looking back at up him in confusion. He chuckled, and started walking in one direction. "Why don't I just take you?"

On the way to their destination, Shiro filled Amal in on how Pidge was still looking for Matt and her father. He also mentioned how happy he was to finally meet Amal, for Pidge had talked about her everyday before they were captured by the Shadow.

Amal blushed, and twiddled with her long hair nervously. It was a little tick of Amal's that just so happened to be a pet peeve of her girlfriend's, so when Amal got nervous she would put her hair in a messy bun to spare Pidge from the twirling.

Even though the Green Paladin wasn't nearby, Amal bundled her hair into her hands, using a snapped rubber band from her pocket to tie it up. By the time she was done with her dark locks, Shiro had led her to the kitchen. He wished her a goodbye, and apparently went off to gather up everyone else.

Amal stepped into the kitchen, gasping loudly at the sight.

Hunk was hunched over a countertop laughing manically, an apron tied around his waist and neck (he also had his orange headband back, wrapped around his forehead). Janiorce sat on the table beside the Yellow Paladin, his eyes shining an olive green and smooth giggles escaping from his throat.

They both had an arrange of ingredients splattered over their clothes, consisting of eggs, flour, and milk. Or at least, the Altean substances that came close to those things.

Janiorce's eight wonder-filled eyes drifted to Amal, and he squealed in delight. "Cap'n, you're awake! Guess what Hunk and I were doing?"

The alien child jumped into Amal's arms, the girl grunting heavily from the impact. She ignored the egg yolk now running down her leg, and carried Janiorce over to the counter at which Hunk was leaning on.
