A/N... so Chap 1... here it goes

....................................................................................................................................

Breathe in. Breathe out. Come on girl. You can do this!

I stared at my self in the reflection. The girl in the mirror looked like she had just stepped out of an Indian fairy tale.

Big puffy white wedding gown, hands decorated in henna all the way up to my elbow, my face and hair styled to perfection.

This was it.

This was my wedding day.

I giggled to my self, unable to contain my excitement.

My reflection giggled right back at me. I smoothed out my dress and took another deep breath saying my mantra over and over again.

"You can do this. It's just walking.

One foot in front of the other.

Easy. Walking down an aisle...

With 600 pairs of eyes on you!"

My breathing rate increased. I cant do this!

What if I fall flat on my face?

What if I trip?

What if my heel breaks?

What if-

My thoughts were interrupted with a knock on the door.

"Sweetheart, are you ready?" I looked at my mother and smiled nervously.

"Is my dress okay?

Is it too big?

Is my hair fine?

Mummy I don't know what to do!" Exasperated I threw my arms around her, hugging my mother like my life depended on it.

"Calm down Attiya. My darling you look so beautiful! I have not been more proud of you."

I smiled, biting my lip to stop the tears from welling up in my eyes. Don't cry don't cry don't cry!

It will only make your mascara run!

I hugged my mother again and breathed a sigh of relief. What is it about mothers... They make all your troubles go away!

"Come now Atti, your brother is waiting for you."

"But what if I fall? Mummy all those people will be looking at me!"

My mother laughed to her self. I think she found it hard to believe that her louder than life daughter was feeling shy to walk down the aisle... At her own wedding! I was known for my loud presence and confidence, but when it came to public speaking and appearances, I was always a squeaky mouse.

I left the safety of my room and headed towards the car parked outside our estate. My brother Mouin was sitting in the driver's seat tapping his fingers against the steering wheel. He was always so impatient! "And so the queen decides to grace us with her presence?"

"Sock it Mo! Its my wedding day!" I said it with an edge but I was smiling at him.

God, I was going to miss my older over protective annoying as hell brother! The thought of how last night was my final night staying at home brought tears to my eyes.

"Attiya man. No don't cry! Wait till later, then you can cry." He said it jokingly and I laughed, punching his arm lightly. We set off towards the hall with my parents and close family following us in their cars. Mouin pulled up outside and unexpectedly came around the car to open my door. "Oh, so you do have manners?"
