Ome month into their friendship and Changkyun felt happier than he ever did with Hyungwon. Jooheon helped Changkyun when he honestly needed support, generally consisting of late night cuddles or phone calls where he cried. Changkyun helped Jooheon when he had nightmares.

Changkyun finally realized something. He needed Jooheon because deep inside he was just a regular university student. He had feelings, and he wasn't a killer. I.M was the killer, and Jooheon could talk Changkyun back. Changkyun found comfort in his dimples and stupid jokes. He was beginning to fall even deeper for him.

He was screwed.

"I'm leaving to LA for a month," Jooheon softly informed him, raking fingers through Changkyun's hair.

The laid on Jooheon's bed with Changkyun half asleep, cuddled up to him with his head on Jooheon's chest. It was fairly peaceful. Was.

"I'm sorry, what?" Changkyun grabbed the elder's wrist and dug his fingernails into the other's soft skin.

"I'm visting a friend, Kyunnie. It's just for a month."

"No, you can't go," Changkyun growled, his fingernails causing small cresents in Jooheon's skin.

Jooheon shook his head. "You don't really get to-"

"I said no. You can't leave me," Changkyun released his wrist and bit his lip to keep from crying.

I told you everyone always leaves, Changkyun. That's why Hyungwon said we should kill him.

Jooheon rubbed his back. "Changkyun, it's just a month. I'm coming back."

"What about university?" Changkyun mumbled, trying to find anything to make him stay.

"I've already told my professors. I'm going to come back, okay?"

"Call me," he whispered. "Every night. I don't care about time zones. Call me before you go to bed, please."

Jooheon was amazed that Changkyun, who was normally tough, needed him. The younger didn't want him to leave. Although Jooheon found it sweet, he wanted to visit his friend.

"I will."

-
Changkyun nervously bit his lip as he clung to Jooheon's arm that wasn't dragging his suitcase. They were at the airport, and Jooheon's flight was in a few minutes.

Jooheon finally stopped. "This is as far as you can go, Kyunnie." He flashed a sad smile. "I'm gonna miss you."

Changkyun stared at the ground. He didn't want to cry, but he didn't want Jooheon to see him cry as tears fell down his cheeks.

"Please don't go," Changkyun spoke in a soft voice.

A hand gently tilted Changkyun's face up and Jooheon wiped away his tears. "I have to."

"No you don't. Stay with me," he pouted like a small child throwing a temper tantrum.

Jooheon pulled him into a hug. "It's only going to be for a bit, okay? Then I'll come home and we can watch stupid movies."

Changkyun suddenly tightened his grip around Jooheon's neck, choking him a bit. "You can't go," he growled. "You're staying." He moved his hands so he was literally choking him.

Jooheon's hands covered Changkyun's as he fought to get him to release. After a moment, he finally forced his hands away. He panted, rubbing his neck the other's hands were.

"What the hell!?" He stared at him with wide eyes.

"Please don't go!" Changkyun sobbed. He reached out to grab Jooheon's arm, but Jooheon slapped his hand away.

"You don't fucking hurt people just because you're upset! What the fuck is wrong with you!? You've never hurt me when you weren't I.M!" Jooheon stared at him with wide, hurt eyes.

"I don't want you to go," Changkyun spoke quietly.

"You're not a kid! You're acting like a child and freaking out when you don't get what you want."

Changkyun reached for him again, but Jooheon stepped back.

"Goodbye, Changkyun."

Without another word, Jooheon left him standing in the middle of the airport. Changkyun stood there for an hour before finally dragging himself home.

"Why is your face red and puffy? It's gross," Hyungwon groaned when Changkyun walked through their apartment door.

Changkyun sat down on the couch next to his best friend. "Jooheon left."

Hyungwon laughed. "I told you that you shouldn't get involved with him."

He was suddenly met with the younger's fist against his face. Hyungwon groaned and punched him back.

Changkyun grabbed the TV remote and threw it at him. "Hyungwon, just leave me alone!"

He ran into their bedroom and locked the door. He curled up in the bed and stared at his phone, waiting patiently for a phone call from Jooheon.

The call never came.
