Hyungwon cluelessly poked Jooheon's cheek again.
"Stop touching him!" Changkyun smacked his hand away.
The elder sighed and stared at the body before him. Jooheon lied on his back in the bed that was in the basement. It wasn't ideal, but they couldn't do anything more.
"Its been three days, Kyun. He could be dead."
Changkyun tightened his grip on Jooheon's hand. "He's not brain dead. He isn't dead! He is still breathing!" He looked at Hyungwon with pleading eyes. "Make it stop!"
Hyungwon sat on the floor and rested his head against Changkyun's thigh since the younger was sitting on the bed next to Jooheon. "I don't know how to make it stop. What the hell are we even supposed to do with him? Tell me what the fuck you want me to do because I can't read minds."
"I want you to fucking fix him!"
"I can't bring the dead back!" Hyungwon shouted back.
Changkyun stared at Jooheon face. "Get out, Hyungwon."
"Kyun, listen-"
"I said get the fuck out of here!"
Hyungwon hesitantly stood up and walked to the door. He glanced back at Changkyun before opening and walking up the stairs, leaving Changkyun alone.
Changkyun released Jooheon's hand to cup his face. "You can't be dead, Jooheon. I know we haven't known each other for long, but I love you and I can't be the one to kill you. I'm sorry we fucked and never spoke after. I'm sorry I'm not a good person. I'm sorry, but I need you to wake up for me."
In some universe, Jooheon would wake up and hear everything Changkyun said. This isn't that universe.
A tear trailed down his face, followed by more. This was what he deserved, but not what Jooheon deserved. Jooheon deserved a happy life with a happy boyfriend.
Why did you have to choose me?
He loved Jooheon. All he wanted was to feel safe in Jooheon's arms. He acted tough, but he was quite the opposite. Changkyun wasn't strong or demanding, at heart he felt defenseless and weak.
"I'm tired, you know. I'm tired of fighting. I'm tired of pretending that I'm someone I'm not. I'm scared of Hyungwon. I'm so scared," he choked out a sob. "And I- I don't want to be here without you!"
With shaky hands, he tosses his leg over Jooheon to straddle him before resting his head against his chest. His entire body shook as he quietly cried. His life felt like it was falling apart, and it was all his fault. Hyungwon told him over and over again not to fall in love. He should have listened. He shouldn't have allowed himself to become obsessed.
He gripped onto Jooheon's shirt. It wasn't even his own. He wore Changkyun's black shirt and sweatpants that Hyungwon changed him into.
He hated Hyungwon.
What kind of person even makes some sort of poison that puts someone in a coma?
Changkyun lied there for hours, sometimes crying, sometimes not. He listened to the consistent beats of Jooheon's heart; it was the only thing he found comfort in. He didn't leave until Hyungwon dragged him upstairs to talk.
"So, you know how I work at the coffee shop?" Hyungwon sat down at the table across from Changkyun.
The younger hummed and took a piece from the loaf of bread Hyungwon got him. He had partially forgiven Hyungwon when he brought him food considering he hasn't eaten since the day Jooheon started being unconcious.
"Well, I got a new job today," Hyungwon reached over and took a small bit of bread from Changkyun's piece. "Working for a really cute guy."
What a hypocrite.
Changkyun narrowed his eyes. "Oh really? Is Chae Hyungwon falling for someone?"
"I don't know. He is a detective and I'm working as an assistant. If anything, at least, I'll destroy any evidence he gets."
Changkyun knew Hyungwon was smart. He knew Hyungwon was an evil mastermind and manipulated people, but Changkyun could see the fond look in his eye. Hyungwon, the most emotionless person Changkyun had ever met, was falling for someone.
"What if you mess up?"
"I won't."
And that was that. No other words were shared.

When Jooheon woke up, he felt his head pounding and a weight on top of him. The room was dark and silent, only breathing filled the nothingness. He felt disoriented, like the room was spinning. In panic, gripped the thing on top of him in an attempt to throw it off. Before he could though, a soft, deep voice filled his ears.
"Jooheonnie?" The deepness of his voice contrasted with how innocent and small his tone was.
Changkyun...?
Jooheon slowly settled down, so Changkyun rested his head back against his chest and sniffled
"You're alive."
"Of course I'm alive, but where the hell are we?" Jooheon asked.
Suddenly, it all came back to him.
"I'm sorry," Changkyun stared at him with those big sad eyes.
"For what? Anyways we are going to go to my house"
Without warning, Changkyun reached into his pocket and pulled out a needle. He grabbed Jooheon's arm and slowly inserted it into his vein. He felt the contents slowly going into his system, and soon he couldn't feel anything.
The last thing he saw was Changkyun's look of full on terror.
And then he woke up here.
"You- you tried to kill me?" He said softly.
Changkyun gripped Jooheon's shirt in his hand. "No! I was scared! I didn't know what to do, but I brought you to my house with Hyungwon to protect you!"
Jooheon was confused. Everything didn't add up. Changkyun tried to kill him, but now he was lying on top of him, literally, with his head pressed against the elder's chest.
"What did you inject me with?"
He sniffled. "Something to put you to sleep for a bit. It's been three days." He paused. "But now you're fine and safe and you'll be here with me!"
Somewhere no one can find you.
Changkyun shuffled a bit, hearing the voice that wasn't his own.
Leave me alone, I.M.
Jooheon let out a sigh. "Talk to me in the morning. I'm tired." He wrapped an arm around the younger.
Truthfully, he wasn't going to sleep. He needed to get his head together. He didn't know what to say to Changkyun; what could he say? Changkyun could have killed him.
He couldn't decide if he should stick around with Changkyun and take the inconsistency and the possibility of always being just friends, or if he should leave and never look back.
Little did he know, currently the second choice wasn't an option.
