Luke's POV

"I can't believe we're watching this," The green-eyed boy sighed as 'Mean Girls' played on the screen.

"This is what you get for turning up at my house out of the blue," I chirped, leaning on his clothed shoulder.

"I'm a good friend okay?" He chuckled, ruffling my curls lightly.

I reached up to flick his hand away in annoyance, an exasperated huff leaving my lips as he held both his hands up in mock surrender, an amused laugh rolling off his tongue in the process.

"By the way, before I forget. Get ready by six, I'm taking you somewhere," He stated simply, slinging an arm around my shoulders and tugging my body closer to his.

"Where?" I asked curiously, knitting my eyebrows together and glancing up at him expectantly.

"You'll see," He said with a smirk, removing his hand from my shoulder and using it to direct my gaze towards the screen in front of us.

-

I stood in front of the mirror which hung on the wall by the front door, trying to style my stubborn blonde locks into a quiff, groaning in irritation when they refused to cooperate and kept flopping to the side instead.

"Lu, we gotta go!" The black-haired boy yelled from his spot in the black vehicle, honking a few times just to hasten my movements.

I muttered profanities under my breath, deciding to leave my hair as it was, slipping on my black combat boots before sprinting out of the door and settling down in the leather seat of his car.

Before I could buckle up safely, he had already started up the engine and was reversing out of my driveway.

"Why are we in such a rush Mike? It's not like we're going for some event right?" I quizzed, taking a quick glance at the somewhat flustered boy as I flipped through the radio stations.

A satisfied smile made its way onto my lips once the familiar tune of 'Amnesia' played in the background and I leaned back in my seat, humming the song under my breath.

I gazed out of the window as we whizzed past houses and a park, enjoying the comfortable silence that had washed over us. Slowly, we came to a standstill and I turned back to look at the tattooed boy who let out a frustrated sigh.

"You have no idea Lu," Michael breathed once we arrived at a red light, one hand dropping to his lap while he ran the other through his black hair.

I stretched out my arm over the centre console to give his bicep a comforting squeeze.

"You're too tense Mike...cut yourself some slack, it's gonna be fine," I soothed, massaging the strained muscles with my fingers tenderly.

He shot me an appreciative smile, ruffling my hair in the process which earned an exasperated groan from me as I retracted my arm from his.

"Dude, not the hair," I whined, grabbing my phone from the front pocket of my black jeans and using the front camera as a mirror as I tried my best to salvage the situation of my messy mop of curls.

"Vain," He chuckled, setting off once again when the light turned green.

Many twists and turns later, we finally arrived at a restaurant, which appeared to be deserted if I may say. It was already dark out and the dim lighting of the place didn't help one bit. However, before I could take one step out of the car, a blindfold was swiftly tied around my head, impairing my vision.

"Michael what the hell?" I shrieked, reaching up to remove the cloth only to have my hands tugged behind my back.

"Lu, just...trust me with this, okay?" The pale boy whispered in my ear, giving my sweater-clad shoulder a light squeeze.

"Okay, but you better not rape me or anything," I said cheekily.

"Why would I do that?"

"It's a possibility."

"Haha, very funny Lu," He muttered and I heard a click, signalling that my door had been opened.

I then felt two calloused hands grasping mine, cautiously leading me out of the car as a light breeze swept across my face.

Michael then guided me slowly and cautiously as we made our way down what I presumed to be a cobbled pathway, the rustling of leaves in the background.

Where the hell were we?

All of a sudden, we came to a halt and his warm hands left mine, leaving me to blindly feel around like a fool, touching nothing but air.

"Michael?" I called out, only to receive no response.

Fear was building up inside my body rapidly.

"Michael, this isn't funny," I exclaimed, bringing my arms up to hug my sweater-clad frame.

Whispers could be heard in the background along with the sound of objects being moved around. I strained my ears, trying to make out what they were saying and furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

A pair of hands fumbled with the blindfold on my head, making me jump a little as an unmanly yelp slipped past my lips.

Once the cloth had been slipped off my face, I was met with darkness once again, barely being able to make out the silhouettes of people in front of me.

However before I could question anything, the place suddenly lit up and I held up my hand in front of my eyes to shade them from the blinding light.

Once I had somewhat adjusted to the lighting, a gasp left my lips as I took in the scene before me - There were two large oak trees decorated with fairy lights, their trunks included, a few polaroids hanging from their low-lying branches. Their branches stretched outwards, meeting each other halfway and forming an arch-like structure. Below that was a small pond surrounding a wooden platform that was connected to the grass patch I was standing on and vanilla scented candles floated lazily on the surface of the water, the fragrance wafting towards me. My eyes finally landed on the figure in the middle, sitting on a stool on the wooden structure with a guitar in hand, a wide grin plastered on his face.

Calum.
