Chapter 8

<<<<Four Months Before I Turn Sixteen>>>>

I had gotten better about letting males near me. Jason and his friends I still stayed far away from though. I smiled as Declan ran up to me with all my friends. He had fit quite nicely in our little group. 

"Hey did you hear about the prom next week?" Annalise squealed. I smiled as I rubbed at me ear. 

"Oww. Thank you for making me deaf in one ear. And yes I did hear are we going shopping tonight?" I replied. 

She grinned. "Yes we are!" she squealed again. 

After school we got Declan to drive us to the mall. He mumbled something about how he would start charging us for every ride. I smiled at him. He winked at me as we got out of the car. 

"Pick us up at nine?" I asked. The girls giggled behind me.

"Sure thing. I'll see you then," Declan replied. The girls and I walked into the mall. 

"He's got it bad for you girl," Jessi said.

"No he doesn't. We're just friends," I replied.

"He likes you, he likes you, he likes you," Brynn sung while dancing around me. 

They shut up after I hit them all. I wished he did think of me as more than a friend though. It would be nice. I sighed and walked into the store. 

We spent hour shopping and talking. Declan was waiting at nine to pick us up. After he drove everyone home he took me back. 

"Selena will you go to the prom with me?" he asked softly. 

"I'd love to."

The next week passed in a blur and soon the girls and I were all in my room getting ready. Our dates came to my door and outside there was a white limo. Brian's parents were rich and they wanted to give their child everything. 

Declan smiled as I walked up and gave him a hug. His cologne smelled spicy and rich. He kissed my forehead then stepped back and posed for pictures. Isabella ran out and tugged at my skirt. 

"Boys have cooties. So if you kiss him here," she whispered. She handed me breath spray and tic tacs. I tried not to laugh at her. It was too cute. But I wasn't sure we would even kiss.

His arm wrapped around me and pulled me closer to him. I saw my mom give him a look before taking another picture.

The prom was being held at a hotel. We drove there and walked in together. The whole group was big. We all had our pictures taken together and let me tell you it was hard trying to get eight people into the picture together. I ended up sitting on Declan's lap on a stool. 

I pulled him out on the dance floor where Te Amo by Rihanna was playing. After we danced to Just To See You Smile. I was quite in danger of falling in love with him at that moment. I think I had been in danger of falling in love since we met.

He went to get me a drink. A pair of hands landed on my hips.

"Trying to avoid me won't work forever. I will finish this. I will have my revenge," Jason whispered in my ear. I fought to get away. He held me tighter and covered my mouth. I bit down on his hand until I tasted blood. He then called me every name under the sun.

I screamed loudly and the music cut off. Declan ran towards me and punched Jason down. Brian, Teagan (Annalise's date and possibly boyfriend), and Justin (Jessi's date), ran over they pulled Declan off Jason and all of us ran out of the hotel.
