Chapter 24 - Taking Care

"I can't believe you make me wear this." I looked at Camilla annoy and she smirked.

"Oh come on.. it's a festival."

"But still... this is too much.." I glared at my sister and she just gave ma a cheeky smile.

"Let's go." She said as she dragged me to the car. I got inside and she drove out from my house.

It's been a week since I went back to New York. I'm here for 2 weeks only since I got a job back in UK. I miss my family a lot and I'm glad that I decided to comeback even though it's a really short time.

Now.. There's a summer festival somewhere in New York. Camilla kept forcing me to come with her since she hates to go alone so I decided to go with her. It's been a long time since we spend time together.

"Gosh Camilla.. Are you kidding me?" I looked at the festival disbelief. It's so cool since it's a really big outdoor park and there's a lot of food, outdoor activities and just everything.

"Cool right? Let's go!" She said as she got out from the car. She dragged me to the festival and I can't help but feel excited.

First, we bought ice cream because it's hot. We walked to the counter and ordered 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream with cone. I put on my sunglasses because the sunlight hit my eyes.

"Let's stroll arou-"

"Camilla!!" A group of girls called her and she hugged all of her friends. I let Camilla talked to them first so I just stroll around alone.

In this festival there's a lot of cute little kids running around with their water guns and eating ice cream. This festival has a lot of outdoor activities related to water and it's quite amusing to watch.

Suddenly I bumped into someone while I was looking at another direction. I spilled my ice cream and gasped.

"Hey watch whe-" We both looked at each other disbelief and my breath got hitch. My eyes widen to see the ice cream stain on his muscle tee.

"I'm sorry.." I said in panic. He turned to his friends and gestured them to go first. I ran to the nearest shop and stole their tissues so I can remove the stain from Ethan's tee.

I cursed under my breath for being so careless.

Suddenly Ethan caught my wrist and that made me look up to him. He's still the same Ethan that I know. Still handsome and muscular. My heart still beating weirdly for him.

"It's fine.. It's not a big deal." He said and let my hand go.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay.. So you're on holiday?" He asked and I avoided his eyes.

"Yeah.." Suddenly he pulled me towards him and I was shocked by his actions. I turned to see a lot of kids running towards us with water guns and it seems like that play somekind of a game. Ethan let me go and we both awkwardly standing next to each other.

"So how are you?" I asked.

"Great.. I guess. You?"

"Great." I answered it as I saw the stain on his tee again. I pointed at it and then looked up to him.

"I'm really sorry about this.. do you bring a spare of clothes? Change into it so I can wash this tee for you." I said and he chuckled.

"Instead of washing this.. can you just buy me that?" He pointed at a banana split truck and I nodded. I gestured him to follow me. I ordered one banana split for him and continued to eat my ice cream while waiting so I won't be awkward between me and him.

"How's school there?" He suddenly asked.

"Great.."

"Any boyfriend?" He asked and I froze.

"No." I answered it in a small tone.

"Are you free this saturday?" He asked and I know where this topic will lead to.

"Kimberly?"

"Here's your banana split." I smiled and took it from the staff. I gave it to Ethan and he just looked at it blankly.

"It's for you.." I said and he suddenly caught my wrist and dragged me to the empty seat. We both sat across each other and I kept looking down to the ground.

"Kimberly.." He called.

"Kim.. please look at me." He said and I slowly looked up to him.

"I miss you." He said and my breath got hitch. I looked at him disbelief and he sighed.

"Ethan.. I-"

"I know.. I was a jerk, an asshole and the list goes on but I like you. I can't stop thinking about you Kimberly.. It's making me insane." He said and I looked away.

"You feel this becau-"

"I know my feelings Kimberly, I've proved it a lot." He said and I sighed.

"Look.. I'm sorry for what happen years ago. I was a fool and still in a teenager stage. I'm sorry Kimberly for everything. I'm really sorry."

"I don't know what to say." I said honestly and he held my hands gently.

"I'll prove it to you.. I swear."

"But.." I looked straight into his eyes and he smiled.

"Hmm?"

"I don't know.." I said.

"Kimberly!!!! I'm going away with my friends.. you take care of her." Suddenly Camilla came and she patted Ethan's shoulder. Ethan smiled and Camilla left before I can even say something.

"Camilla!" I called but she ran away.

"I'm going to get he-" When I got up from my seat, Ethan pulled my body towards him and I ended up on his lap. Our faces were so close making me hard to breath.

"Your sister asked me to take care of you so now.. I'm taking care of you." He smirked as he touched my nose.
