Joey's POV

I taped the last box shut. Moving day, the day I dreaded the most. "Why are we moving all the way to Rhode Island?" I asked, whining. "It's only one state south of here. It's not like we're moving to Florida," He smiled. "But why," I whined again. "My job, I know thou don't want to leave, but I can't refuse this deal," He explained.

"Yes, you can. It's easy. You just say 'no thank you'. C'mon dad," I said. "Joey. That's enough. Now, load up the moving truck, we'll be driving all night," He ordered. Being an only child sucked. I did all the work.

"Dad, what am I gonna do?" I ask. "What do you mean," He says, typing away on his laptop. "About being, um," I clear my throat, "you know," I finish. He stops typing and looks up at me. "Joey," He sighed, "I'm afraid I can't help you there. Telling people or not, that's your choice. But if I were you, I'd wait until you trusted then enough," Dad said.

I thought about Dad's comment. I mean, who could I trust. It's bad enough I'll probably be bullied for my stupid Boston accent. Once they know that I'm, um, that, it'd be even worse.

Loading up the last box, Dad hopped in his car. "C'mon Joey, we gotta go," He called. I glanced back at the house, carrying my laptop bag. This is it, I'm leaving. My friends lined up on the block. "Bye guys," I said, waving.

Willow and Andrew, my two closest friends, came and hugged me. When Willow walked away, Andrew wrapped his arm around me. He lifted me, making me laugh. "Cut it out," I say. He chuckles deeply and brings me down.

"I'm gonna miss you," He said. I kissed him and put my arms around his neck. "I wish you could come," I say into his chest. "I wish you could stay," He smiles, pecking the top of my head.

Getting impatient, Dad honked. Andrew and I chuckled. "Go, before he grounds you," He smiles. "I'll skype you," I say, walking to the car. "I'll text you," He waved. I finally get in the car, and wave 'bye' to everyone else.

We arrived in Providence around midnight. "We're home Joey," Dad said, nudging me awake. "Yeah, home," I mumble, flooded with memories of Andrew. Andrew had been my boyfriend for almost a year. Oh, how I'll miss him.

We brought down the boxes, but only unpacked a few. The movers helped by arranging the furniture, even though it was late. "Thanks," Dad said, giving each of them a ten dollar bill.

I laid on the couch, tired as hell. " We're unpacking tomorrow. You start school on Wednesday," Dad said. I sighed in frustration. "Welcome to Providence," I mumble sarcastically.
