NOT WHAT IT SEEMS

Sean And Ella

"You brought me here? To get me better? And you think this will help any?" I watch as she nods to each of my question with a sure look.

Sean was staring at me and our surroundings as if I was loosing it or the air around was infectious or both. But I knew what I was doing- or I think I did. I mean it usually works in the movies.

"Ok now you see?" with a sigh when he gave me a confused face. "Your negative energy" I indicated rising my hands. "It's robbing off me".

Walking up to him and grabbing his hand.

"Just let me try this. It won't hurt to try right?" added when he looked unsure.

Staring confused at her eager face. Admittedly very distressed, yes. Heading to depression, maybe. It won't hurt to give her idea a go then. The worst that would happen is it not working.

And end up disappointed

Maybe. But at least I tried.

"Alright". Resisting the urge to scoff at her happy dance.

"But this-"  indicating our surrounding.

"It's a very quiet place" She interrupts. 

"Lots of fresh air. Enough space to think and contemplate things"

With a smile. "Contemplate huh?"

"Hey, didn't they teach you not to doubt your doctor?" She argues.

"Ohk sorry Dr.Pipper"

Watching her groan at my teasing  and tell me she hates me makes me laugh"

"No you don't. You won't be trying to help me otherwise"

"I guess. Now come on, a little bit further"

"Ella are you sure we are on the right path? We've been walking for hours".

"Ella".

She refused to reply but kept walking and a grumpy Sean following behind.

"Ella am telling y.... ou. Wow!"

"You were saying?" she asked with a knowing face. 

"How smart you are" I reply when she laughed.

Just ahead, a flowing stream. Its surface as clear as glass, sourced from the waterfall further front. You could see the fishes as they swim. The tall trees added to give it a jungle feel.

Jungle feel.

Just like a scene from a cartoon jungle movie I had seen before.

Beautiful. Simply amazing

"I don't need to ask. Your face says it all. You're welcome".

Turning at Ella's remark with a smile. She emits a scream when picked up in spin.

"Sean!" she yelps hitting my shoulder.

Laughing I place her down. She takes a moment before going to unpack our backpacks.

"Are you just going to stand there or you gonna help me set up? "

"Oh yeah, sure".

Together we get things set up in no time. A light dinner later we sit and relax with dangling feet in the stream, our tent some yards away.

It was silent and peaceful all round. The sound of the crickets, the gentle splashing of the waterfall combined with the rippling stream. And not forgetting the beautiful sky that was beginning to reveal its stars.

Nice.

Was the my thought. Haven't even thought about my issues since we arrived. It made me feel...peace.

Guess coming was a good thing afterall.

"Tell me how you started to like her".

Argghh

Guess I thought too soon.

Thought I'd make the chapter extra long.
