Chapter 9 - An Emotional Rescue

With time passing by, my eyes continued to look distant as I continued finishing work for the Brotherhood and taking care of the Diamond.

I still thought about Connor, thinking if he was alright, but kept reminding myself that he is surely okay and that I believe in him.

I slowly made myself feel better and better.

The Diamond happened to shine once in a while though. I didn't know what those times meant but the shining did not last for a while, so there was no reason to travel back.

Today, on the other hand, felt like something was going to happen.

--

Meanwhile, Connor has created a plan to find Charles Lee and silence him forever by breaching Fort George's walls.

Fort George is where Lee is supposed to be found. The only way to find him undetected was to create a distraction to scatter the Fort's guards.

Connor has assigned ships to wait for his signal to fire at the walls and alarm the guards. In order to create the signal, he had to travel underneath the fort through a tunnel so he could not be seen.

To create the signal, he had to climb a tower and light the lantern on fire.

Once the distraction is made, it would be time to look for Lee.

Unfortunately, with the bombs hitting the wall, one eventually hit near Connor which injured him.

His head throbbed with pain as he bled a bit. But still, he was determined to find Lee through all of the ruckus.

He entered an empty area and yelled Lee's name, but was greeting by none other than his father, Haytham.

Haytham ran towards Connor and started to fight him to the ground.

Connor stood back up though and started to fight him to the ground.

They both fought with their fists until Connor found an opening, twisted Haytham's arm behind his back, locking him.

"Come now, you cannot hope to match me, Connor. For all your skills, you're still but a boy - with so much left to learn," Haytham pushed Connor away as Connor took out his blade and stabbed him in the arm making him yell with pain.

"GIVE ME LEE!", Connor yelled with anger as he got into a fighting stance.

Haytham panted as he tried to regain composure, "Impossible. He is the promise of a better future. The sheep need a shepherd."

"He has been dismissed and censured. He can do nothing for you now."

"A temporary setback. He will be restored.", Haytham took out his sword as a legendary fight was about to be made.

Connor took out his tomahawk as they started to fight with their weapons.

Haytham kept on talking about how special the Templars' duties were. They both tried to push each other into objects around them in order to hurt each other and gain a certain advantage to winning the battle.

By this moment, the Diamond slowly started to shine.

"MASTER! THE DIAMOND!"

I looked up from the clipboard in my hand as the Diamond shined a dim light.

"What is going on?", I muttered.

--

"Where is Miranda now?! I'm pretty sure she won't come to save you from my blade!", Haytham yelled with a mocking tone.
