What do we do in this situation?

Derek's PoV

I park my car in the parking lot of the hospital and as I look up I see the hospital on fire...

General floor

Meredith works on the general floor.

I run. All I did was run, until I got stopped by the cops. "Sorry sir you can't go in."

"No! You don't understand my wife is in there!" I see Bailey walking up to me with a sad face.

"Derek..you can't go in I'm sorry.."

"Please..Bailey..Meredith is the love of my life.."

"I know..she'll make it.."

"There she is!" I yelled. It was a lie, the police men and Bailey both looked just to see a bush while I ran inside.

I run up to stairs, and it began to get hotter and hotter. Because of the smoke I barely saw a thing and couldn't breath that good. Yeah maybe it is logical because I'm in a building filled with flames. I rip a part of my pants and made a 'mask' from it, to prevent me passing out before getting Meredith.

I open the door of general and it looked worse that it was on the outside. I crouch close as possible to the ground and walk to the general floor.

A few minutes passed as I saw a male body whom was all torn apart, where the most fire was. I took a closer look into the room to see a body laying there. A female body..a familiar female body. The clothes where burned but not on fire. Her lab coat was in flames on the other side of the room burning to ashes.

I crouch to the body and roll it over. Like I thought Meredith's face stared soulless at me. Without wasting more time I lift her up and walks towards the stairs.

"Mhh" I look around from where it was. "Derek...?"  I look at Meredith who's looking weak back at me.

"Shh it's okay I'm gonna get you out of here.." I make her a 'mask' too and reach the stairs. I carefully went down them as I could see more.

Meredith's body was full of burn wounds. Her whole body was almost black and her clothes were barely there. I reach the front doors where Bailey immediately ran to us.

"Derek! You could've died!"

"So could Meredith!" I snap back.

"Derek it's okay..we made it out..you saved me.." She begins to cough loudly. I bring to an ambulance and they gave her oxygen and Jackson hops onto the ambulance with us for her burn scars. "I made the hospital explode.." She says after a few minutes of silence.

"Why do you think that..?"

"I had a patient, who had pain in his kidney..and because the ct was over full I took him to a private room and he just..Trew gasoline on me and a match..and everything went in flames..I shouldn't brought-"

"Meredith..it's okay it's his fault..just calm down okay.."

After that we arrived at Seattle press and they've treated her well. They are repairing the hospital and it was gonna take about 3 months before it's done so we were jobless. We stayed home a lot for the kids and for Meredith.

I'm happy to I helped her out of the fire because if I didn't help her she wouldn't make it.

It would've broken me inside. That I didn't fight for her. But I did. And now we are enjoying each other, surrounded by our kids playing in the yard. Ellis on the swing. Zola on her bike and Bailey playing soccer with Owen.

I want to see what the future holds.

But for now.

I have a happy family, and a lovely wife.

And that's all I need.
