Esme

"You aren't serious." Ariana states with a frown playing at her lips. It's now Monday and we are sitting at lunch. I'm just replaying what happened this weekend to my friends. I ignored Zayn text's yesterday being that I didn't want to talk to him after the whole Natalia situation.

"Yes! It was our coffee date and he just let her intrude like it was nothing." I state shaking my head as my fingers mess with the muffin in front of me. Aiden has been silent the entire time I've been talking about this.

"You know, you could be over analyzing the whole situation Esme. You said, that he hasn't seen her in several years and that they were friends for years." Aiden says finally breaking the ice on his part. My eyes glance at him.

"No Aiden. I'm not over thinking. He could've asked me but she is freaking gorgeous. I mean, they've had to had something one point." I state with a sigh. I don't know why my mind is running with such thoughts about Zayn possibly cheating on me. He couldn't do that to me right? We're engaged and we've been through too much shit already.

"No seriously. You thinking other things isn't good for you. Trust me." Aiden states glancing at Ari before looking back at me. Hmm, I wonder what's going on there. Arianna doesn't let anything show though when Aiden makes the side comment. I feel like there's something more to that then there really is.

Sometimes I think Arianna and Aiden are the perfect couple. Arianna being the cheerleader everybody is fond of. She's pretty and is very sweet. Then there's Aiden who has danger written all over him. Aiden protects Arianna at all costs. I've notice that. A guy whistled at her the other day, and Aiden got detention for a week for punching the guy in the jaw. They've been together for five years. I sense something must've happened before I met them though.

"Maybe you should try talking to him about her Es. You could skip the rest of the day and figure it out. I could pick up your work and bring by." Arianna suggests and I think it over. It's been a total of two days since the incident occurred. I've had phone call after phone call from him and my messages are piling up. I hate that I'm ignoring him also.

"Okay.. Thank you Ari. And you too Aiden. I'll text you guys and let you know what happens." I say, after a moment of thinking. Arianna shoots me a smile and Aiden gives me a half smile that doesn't really reach his eyes. Reminder, call Aiden later and see if he's okay. I stand up as I grab my bag from the floor and scan the cafeteria.

When my eyes set on the person I'm looking for, I walk towards the tables. I slide through people walking or just gathering talking. When I reach the table filled with guys, I hear their conversations about banging girls and whatnot. What pigs.

"Damn we got some hot chick standing over here fellas." One of the boys cat call and the table erupts into whistles and loud voices overlapping each other about how I look. I roll my eyes ready to tell them off but Parker, surprisingly, beats me too it.

"Shut the hell up Rodney. That's my sister your talking about." Parker snaps and I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks. He just stood up for me without a second though. Don't ruin your chance, Esme. Clearing my throats, I keep my eyes on my soon to be step brother.

"I need you to give me a ride somewhere please." I state softly and Parker looks at me before shrugging his shoulders. His fingers wrap around his water bottle as he stands up. His other hand wraps around my arm as we leads us out of the cafeteria and into the hallway.

"Don't come to my table. They are bunch of egotistical pigs and you don't need to be handling that." Parker says, and for some reason, I think I hear worry dripped into his voice.
