Chapter Eight
Savannah’s POV: Tuesday 23rd October 2012
“You're ignoring me,” I heard a familiar smug voice say as the person sat down next to me.
“Go to hell Thompson,” I sneered and shuffled my seat as far away from his as possible. That morning I’d gotten a ride with Alex and Robin again and I’d been avoiding Thompson.
“Not gonna happen babe I'm not giving up until you talk to me properly,” he said moving over so his forearm was pressed against mine on the desk.
I moved it away from him knowing that if I left it there I wouldn’t be able to ignore him.
I continued to ignore him until our maths teacher came in and started to teach. It was going well until about halfway through the lesson.
“You're hiding something from me I can tell,” Thompson whispered in my ear. I shuddered slightly as his warm breath hit my neck but other than that I ignored him.
“I want to help you Savannah why won’t you let me?” he whispered.
“If this is about me playing you I'm not,” he whispered.
“Who's Zack?” he asked and I couldn’t take it anymore.
I stood up and put my stuff in my bag before flinging it over my shoulder. I walked out ignoring the shouts of the teacher and ran down the hallway. Pushing through the front doors of the school I ran to the parking lot and ended up sitting against a big tree on some grass nearby.
“What's wrong Savannah?” I heard Thompson ask as he sat down next to me.
“Nothing can’t you just leave me alone?” I said suddenly very tired.
“No I can tell something's wrong because you were just coming out of your shell and now you're back in it again!” he said.
“You can’t do anything about it…” I said and froze realising what I’d just said.
“About what?” he asked.
“Nothing…” I muttered cursing internally.
“No…” he started but I cut him off.
“Can you just give me a ride home I'm not in the mood for school today!” I said standing up.
“Sure,” Thompson said standing up.
I ran a hand over my face sighing as we walked to the car and I got into the passenger seat.
We drove home in silence Thompson shooting me worried glances.
He pulled into the driveway and climbed out of the car. He unlocked the front door and we went in.
“I'm just going to…” I started but was interrupted by a voice.
“Savannah what are you doing here you're supposed to be at school?” I heard my mother ask.
Shit I’d completely forgotten they were staying here.
“Don’t act like you give a shit, I'm not staying anyway,” I said and turned to see her staring at me.
“Come on darling be nice to your poor mum of course I care,” she said her eyes flashing menacingly.
“Whatever…” I said.
“You’ve never been the same since Zack,” she said and cast me that familiar look.
The look of blame.
“SHUT UP!” I screamed making her and Thompson jump. My dad and surprisingly Sam and Lizzy came running into the hall.
