Chapter Seven
Savannah’s POV: Monday 22nd October 2012
“Savannah wake up lazy ass we have school!” I heard Thompson shout through my bedroom door.
Groaning I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Ah shit okay forgot about my bruises.
I dragged myself out of bed and brushed my teeth. I changed into a turquoise blue long sleeve to cover my bruises, black skinny jeans and turquoise Supras. I dabbed some make-up over my bruises on my face and managed to cover them up a tiny bit so they weren’t as prominent. I straightened my waist length, curly, dark hair and let it fall around my face. Sighing I took one last look in the mirror before grabbing a black hoodie, my bag and my phone. I raced downstairs hoping to leave quickly so I could bunk off for the day but I was stopped by a voice.
“Savannah you're coming to school no exceptions!” Thompson called to me from the kitchen and I groaned.
“But why?” I whined sitting down on one of the breakfast bar stools.
“Because that way I can keep an eye on you!” he said passing me a pop tart. I swear to God these are the only things I eat at the moment.
“I'm not a baby Thompson I can look after myself!” I cried.
“Well obviously you can’t,” he said gesturing to my bruises.
“Shut up like this is my fault!” I spat at him throwing down my breakfast and stormed out of the kitchen.
“Savannah come on I didn’t mean it like that!” he cried running after me.
“And how did you mean it?” I asked turning around to glare at him.
How were we already arguing?
“I meant if you don’t come to school and I don’t know where you are I’ll freak out and think something like what happened has happened again!” he said.
“Still just don’t talk about it okay, I want to forget it ever happened!” I said angrily.
“I understand that but you do realise you're going to have to talk about it in court?” he said.
“Yes I'm not stupid Thompson I realise that but other than that I don’t want anyone to mention it!” I said.
Everyone had been asking me constantly if I was okay and looking at me like I was going to shatter into pieces any moment. It was really starting to get on my nerves.
“How is it that we can have this kind of argument this early in the morning?” he asked chuckling.
“Because you're a dick that’s why, can we just go to school and get this over with please!” I said rolling my eyes.
“Okay let’s go, the boys are getting a ride with Alex and Robin,” he said and we left for school.
…
“Well that was awful!” I said throwing myself on my bed.
Thompson and I had just returned home from school and he was leaning against my doorframe smirking.
“Really I thought it went quite well, I loved the I thought I needed a bit more colour excuse!” he said and started to laugh.
People had been asking me about the bruises all day and I’d been coming up with crazy reasons, it was quite fun actually.
“Shut up!” I cried giggling and threw a pillow from my bed at him.
“Have you talked to your parents recently?” he asked in a casual voice as he came and put the pillow back on my bed.
