"And so it was very important that Merlin wrestled that crocodile with his own bare hands as the beast had swallowed his wand..."

"He had bear hands!?" Joey whispered to Darren in awe as he listened to Professor Binns surprisingly engrossing lecture. History Of Magic was usually everyones least favourite subject.

"But then, the worst imaginable thing happened, and the possessed crocodile ripped off Merlin's beard and forced him to eat it!"

Some of the class gasped, like Joey, while others remained completely uninterested and bored. Like Darren, who slouched in his chair at the back of the class next to his best friend, doodling a picture of a girl with gooseberry eyes. He bewitched it so that she was blowing kisses at him from the parchment.

Professor Binns wrapped up the class by declaring he wanted a 12 inch essay on the Adventures Of Merlin, and Joey and Darren stood up, collecting their books into their bags and slinging them over their shoulders. Sami shot Darren a wink from across the class before joining her Slytherin friends as the class began to buzz with chatter and spill out into the corridor.

Everyone made their way to the courtyard to enjoy their break. Bonnie walked alongside Joey, greeting him with a smile. Joey looked back at her uncertainly. Darren pulled out a Redvine from his pocket and began chewing on it.

"Joey..." Bonnie began. They were outside in the sunshine now, their classmates milled around and chatted. "I think I owe you an apo-"

"Hey Bonnie!" came Justin's voice. She turned around, agitated, to find Justin, smiling in what he though was a seductive way. But it just made Bonnie want to kick weiner dogs. Darren heard Joey grumble "Bieber," under his breath.

"If you don't mind Justin I'm trying to tell Joey something. If you could leave, that would be brilliant," Bonnie said, facing Joey again and placing a hand on his arm. A tingle shot through Joey's arm where her warm hand touched his skin. "Joey, I.."

Bonnie was cut of again by Justin, who realised what was happening, and stepped between them, forcing Bonnie to let go, and Joey to step back. Joey glared daggers at Justin from behind. He was about to shove Justin out of the way when he said, "Bonnie, I have something much more important to do first. I think it will change your mind abut some things." He flicked his golden hair in the way Bonnie simply detested.

She glared at him, and tried to push past him, but suddenly she was surrounded by five more boys from her year. Two Gryffindors, a Hufflepuff and two Ravenclaws. They were all very attractive, but also very... camp-looking.

"Boys," Justin nodded, "Harry, give us a beat. On four guys. One, two, three..."

"Baby you light up my world like nobody else,

the way that you flick your hair gets me overwhelmed,

and when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,

you don't know, oh oh, you don't you're beautiful!"

Bonnie stood, mortified, as the boys sang to her. Justin was singing too, and moving closer and closer towards her. She looked around, embarrassed that all eyes were on her. But the only eyes she could see were Joey's. He watched from a distance as she was serenaded by these boys who all had immaculate hair.

The look in his eyes was enough to make her launch herself from the circle she was enclosed in and cover the space between her and Joey in a few steps. She grasped his shoulders and leaned up on her toes, bringing their lips together.
