Here's the new chapter!!! Let me know what you think! :) Hope ya'll like this one -- enjoy!
"What did you want to talk about?" I question Sidney as Braden and Claire left us alone in the living room and out of ear shot so we could chat. I couldn't help but wonder what she came to talk to me about. I bet it must have something to do with what happened earlier with her stupid bastard of a boyfriend, sorry not sorry.
"I'm quite surprised you're here, actually," I say as I feel my tongue glide over my chapped lips.
"What did you say to Chris?" she questioned me and stared at me as she rested her hands on her hips looking over at me where I stood.
"I told him he doesn't deserve you and I really don't think you do. Why are you still with him anyway? He's nothing but a scumbag; I've known guys like him all my life." I sat looking at her.
"Yeah, I figured that out earlier, but thanks for pointing it out for me yet again," she replies back in a sarcastic tone.
"I really think you deserve better, love. Can I ask you something else?" I tell her honestly, because I really do think she deserves better. As I spoke, I felt my lips curve up into a wide grin as I stare at her. She doesn't deserve being treated like that by him, that bastard, Chris whom she calls her boyfriend. As I stared at her, her bright blue eyes boring into my blue-green ones. I couldn't shake the smile on my face.
"I guess so, you already asked one but I'll still answer it anyway," she responds with a smirk on her lips as she looks back at me. She soon motions for me to go on and continue.
"He could do so much better than you; you seem too good for him. I'd really like to get to know you better, babe. I meant it when I spotted you at the club. I really did. What do you say? Are you willing enough?" I question her with a playful smirk on my lips.
She doesn't respond right away, most likely thinking of what to say back to me. I really do mean it; I really want to get to know her better, I truly do. When I make promises like that, I tend to keep them. I feel like when I'm around her like this moment right now, I feel like I can keep her safe.
"I guess, I am if you totally are," she replies in a soft manner as she looks up to meet my eyes that were already staring back at her.
"I am," I reply with a small smile while I look at her.
We sit and talk for a while longer before she pulls out her phone. I hope she didn't have any place to be but I'm sure she was just checking the time. I bring my wrist up to my line of sight to find I wasn't wearing my watch. Smooth, Harry, how stupid are you? I look over to the large clock on the wall that stood in the foyer near the door. It was ten minutes past eleven-thirty.
"Shit...I just realized it's late and I think I should go because I have an exam in the morning I need to study for," she says standing up in a swift movement and begins to head for the door. I get up and follow close behind her. I reach forward and grab hold of her arm. She looks over immediately most likely taken aback by my action.
"Would you mind if I walked you home? A pretty lass like you shouldn't be walking the streets alone 'specially at this time o' night. C'mon, I insist," I say kindly as I stare at her, awaiting a reply.
"I...sure," she replies with a small smile.
I reach forward and pull the front door open, motioning for her to walk out. She hesitates a second or two before walking out on to the porch. As she stepped out, I noticed her shiver as I rush of cold wind flew by. It was always quite chilly at this time of night. As I stare at her, I feel her eyes shift to meet mine that were staring intently at her.
"You cold? Here, take my jumper," I say as I start to take off my jumper I had put on over my shirt.
"I-I'm fine, no thanks," she tells me as she turns to face me once I lock up the door with my key. My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as she told me no.
"I insist, take it," I hold it out for her to take from me. She soon takes it in her small hands and begins to put it on.
"Fine, I'll get it back to you next time I see y0u," she replies after she gets it on. Since she was so small and petite, it was really big on her, swallowing her up. it looked good on her, better than how it looked on me, anyhow.
"You don't have to, you can keep it, I don't mind, really," I tell her as we walk down the sidewalk.
"Alright," she responds shifting her eyes to the ground while we walked along the path.
We went on about a ton of random things on the walk back to her house. I really didn't want to see Chris right now. My nerves were still on edge from our confrontation earlier. Next time I see him, if he tries anything in my sight trying to hurt Sidney in any way, I'm going to beat the living shit out of him. Sidney doesn't deserve to be treated like that, especially by him. It wasn't right.
We soon arrive at her house. Sidney and I were now standing on the porch.
"Thanks for walking me back," she tells me with a small smile on her lips.
"Not a problem, love. Oh and there's one other thing I'd like from you also," I say with a smirk as I look at her, her blue eyes shining bright from the bright porch light. She was too beautiful.
"What is it?" she asks, staring at me in a confused state, her eyebrows creased firmly together in confusion.
"Your number," I reply looking her way as she turns and begins to unlock the door.
"I'm sure you'll find a way to get it somehow, Claire might have it," she tells me with a smirk before turning back to the door.
"I might have to ask her for it," I answer to her while I take a step forward so I was standing directly in front of her. I was standing so close to her; my lips were practically touching her earlobe as I breathed.
"See you later, beautiful," I whisper in her ear.
As I breathed against her skin, I knew goose bumps were soon going to form. It made me smile that I made her nervous like that. I soon pull away and begin to walk off down the sidewalk. As I walked home, I couldn't help but think of Sidney and how our talk went. What I wanted right now, aside the fact I want her all to myself and away from that bastard, was her phone number.
I knew just the person to get it from, my best friends so called "friend" Claire, who I take it is also pretty good friends with Sidney. That was going to be my main focus when I got home. Right now, I was alone to collect my thoughts. It was nice; I thought it was at least. I soon make it back and head up onto the porch so I could unlock the door.
Once I unlocked the door and pushed it open, I walk inside before shutting the door behind me. Hanging on the coat rack was a jacket I didn't recognize, one I haven't seen before. It must have belonged to Sidney, it had to. Might as well give it back next time I see her. My eyebrows scrunch together as I look at the purple jacket.
I make my way into the living room to see Braden passed out on the couch, the telly still on in the dimly lit room. I wonder where Claire was, I'm surprised she isn't here with him since they do almost everything together since they first met a few months back.
"Brae! You awake, mate?" I call a bit loudly and shake him. I am soon swatted harshly in the arm.
"Look who's awake!" I exclaim patting his shoulder smiling.
"What d'you want, Harry? I was having a good dream till you interrupted," he says with a groan opening his eyes slightly looking at me.
"Where's Claire? I wanted to ask her something, but I guess she's not here, I expected her to be with you, when I came back," I reply with a slight smirk as I look at the dark haired boy before me I called my best friend.
"Claire? She left, mate, after you left to walk Sidney back home," he said and ran one of his hands through his hair that was messy from sleep.
"What did you want to ask her?" Braden questions me as he sits up on the couch staring up at me as I stood there in front of him.
"I asked Sidney for her number and she told me that Claire might have it so I thought why not ask her, but she's not here," I say crossing my arms over my chest looking at my friend.
This was going to be more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I'll get it from her the next time she's with Braden or something which will probably be tomorrow night. I can finally rest easy now knowing that there is possibly hope for me becoming closer to Sidney. Now, to get Chris away from her is my next issue.A/N: What did everyone think of this one??
