drunks, fights and busted lips

I had just pulled into the car lot of the place Nick said he was. The place was packed with people who stood in line to get inside waiting for the bouncer to let them through. I pull the car up to the front so I could try and find him. Once I spot him, I roll the window down and glance over at Sidney for a second, who was looking around at the happenings around us. I couldn't help but smile a bit, I wanted to take her out again soon and we could have a little fun.

"Nick! C'mon mate, get your ass over here!" I call out the window toward the noticeably drunk guy I called my best friend with a slutty looking blonde girl on his arm.

He wore those glasses that made him look like Harry Potter. The two of them stumble their way over to my car drunk off their asses. The girl couldn't stop giggling and trying her best to not trip over her own feet. I had to keep myself from laughing; all I could do was smile a bit.

"H-hey Harry! You don't mind if K-Kels c-comes a-along t-too, d-do you?" he asks as they struggle to stand in front of my side of the car. As he spoke, I could smell the hard liquor on his breath.

"Yeah, yeah, just don't puke in 'ere, just cleaned it a few days ago. Hurry it up, mate!" I tell him loudly and press the button to unlock the doors. I could hear Sidney laughing at my words to Nick. It brought a smile to my face.

"O-okay, o-okay, Haz I got it! N-no puking in your p-precious c-car," he slurs his words, laughing a bit. I just nod my head and drum my fingers on the steering wheel as we wait for them to get in the car. The strong smell of alcohol made its way around the enclosed space. I notice Sidney scrunch up her nose and cough a bit at the smell.

I soon step on the gas and we are soon out of here. Now, it was on to drop Sidney off. The thought of seeing Chris made me angry. I didn't like how she was still with him and we kissed earlier, well barely. Of course, right when our lips touch, my phone begins to go off. I was the one who made that move. If Chris wasn't in the picture, I don't think I'd be this angry or pissed off. As I drove, I couldn't help but clench my fists tighter against the wheel at the thought of him.

She deserves way better and I feel like I can treat her better than he does, way better. I would never think to hurt a woman like that. It brings back many memories I want to forget of my dad. To calm my nerves a bit, I turned the music up a bit more.

"H-hey, y-you're Sidney, aren't you? Harry's told us some stuff 'bout you, love. He's sure right, you are quite somethin'," I hear Nick ask Sidney in his drunken state. There was no peep from the girl. As I glance back, I notice she was out like a light. I can't help but roll my eyes at his remark.

"Shut the fuck up, Nick, you 'ave a lass with ya, keep your thoughts to yourself and I'll do the same with mine," The words came out a bit harsher than I meant to, my voice rising in irritation. Nick doesn't respond; you could only hear him let out a sigh and shut his mouth.

From the corner of my eye, I couldn't help but stare at Sidney as I came to a stop at a red light. She was blushing for some damn reason. Was it something I said? I'm sure it was. I shift my eyes back on the road as the light turns green and I zoom forward. We were getting closer to the University and even closer to arriving at her place where the bastard was bound to be.

It was a little past midnight. I turn down the street that was before the street Nick and I lived on. Her place wasn't too incredibly far from ours. I continue on down the street until I came upon it so I could turn. Every so often, I would glance out the corner of my eye to see Sidney staring out the window as if she was concentrating immensely on something. I couldn't help but wonder what she was going on about in her head.

I begin to make my way down the street I first saw her walking down a few days ago with a girl beside her I presume had to be one of her friends. I come to a slow stop when I realize I was coming up to her place she lived with the bastard she called her "boyfriend". That thought made me cringe and I tightened my fingers around the wheel once more as I came to a stop in front of the place I knew had to be hers.
