Heyo Luktra fam!
It's me, Jay, your resident weirdo XD
I'm also a closet Simmer
I've been playing The Sims 4 lately and rather enjoying it, and the house I've logged the most hours in has got to be my MCSM one. It's fun. And chaotic. And hectic. And I love it lol.
I made the whole NOOTS (with Jesse and Jessie as brother and sister) and stuck the six of them in one house and kind of just let things unfold. And I'm rather pleased because, even though my heart was screaming for me to set up Luktra, I stuck to my guns and decided to see what happened naturally before I made any hasty decisions.
First of all Olivia got almost instantly banned from the kitchen because the first thing she did was walk inside, attempt to make grilled cheese, fail, and set the kitchen on fire. The result was $1,500 in damage (bye bye spending money) and an almost entirely traumatized set of Sims. The only ones who escaped the "Tense" moodlet were Jessie, who I think was the one to successfully extinguish the fire, and Petra, who was outside doing pushups and somehow missed the entire thing? o.o Olivia was no longer allowed to make anything but salad for a good long while after that lol. (She has since learned to cook and has caused no subsequent fires.)
The next day, work started. The Jesses went into business, Axel became an athlete, Olivia went into programming, Petra became a secret agent, and Lukas became a writer. Between the six of them, someone was almost always home, but it did leave things a lot quieter than they were that first day.
Then, the chess set arrived.
I originally got the chess set for Petra, who needed a way to get the "focused" mood before work, but it quickly became a staple of entertainment for our house (which had no TV). To this day, there's nearly always someone playing with that chess set. The Jesses often enjoy a good game together, and even Axel will try his hand from time to time. Olivia also likes a good game every now and then, but the most motivated Sim in the house is definitely Lukas. He was, I believe, the first one to seek out the chess set on his own accord, without me telling him to do so, and he began to frequent the table over the following days. He picked a rather opportune time to take up this interest, since it preceded about two days off work that he shared with Petra.
Petra needed a bit more coaxing to get into chess, but soon she started seeking out the chess table on her own too. Over the following couple of days she spent at home, she spent a fair portion of time playing chess-- often with Lukas, since he was the only one home during the day. I left them to their own devices for most of the time, just making sure they took care of their needs (towards end of the second day Petra decided to be very stubborn about playing chess before attending to her needs, and remains one of the more... unreliable? Sims when it comes to taking care of herself >.< She's the only Sim in the household who's ever passed out from exhaustion-- after I TOLD her to go to bed. But I digress), but over those two days they boosted their friendship level to the highest of anyone in the house-- about two thirds full. I'm not gonna lie, I was quite proud that it happened without any intentional meddling, hehe.
Olivia quickly became the resident repairwoman, and became quite proficient in fixing anything that broke. More surprisingly, Axel also proved to be quite handy at fixing things-- after a day home alone when both toilets suddenly broke. I finally bought a computer, meant mostly so Olivia could program, but also so Lukas could write, but it was quickly commandeered by Jesse, who saw the need to play video games. To this day, I'm constantly kicking other Sims off the computer so Lukas and Olivia can work. Petra seems to be the only one who hardly touches the computer, and she and Lukas are the only ones who hardly ever play video games. Olivia is the only one to really make use of her gaming skill-- she's been able to compete in some tournaments, though she has yet to win.
One day, after becoming "Confident", Olivia decided she wanted to confidently flirt with someone. Axel was the only one home, but, despite fearing the worst, I decided to let her attempt it. Amazingly, despite no prior romantic interactions, he actually LIKED it, and apparently they're now considering each other romantically o.o
We also acquired a punching bag.
That came to pass because of Axel and Petra-- both of whom have the hothead trait and frequently end up in a foul mood. Notably, Lukas got upset after Axel yelled at him during one such bout of anger, but Petra was able to calm him down. Unfortunately he's not quite so good at calming her anger, and so we got a punching bag. It certainly has decreased the number of angry interchanges in the house. The punching bag also led to possibly my proudest interaction that I've ever seen in this household.
Petra had tried to hug Lukas a few times before, and the poor boy had become "Embarrassed" and fled the room. I was more than hesitant to let her try again, but after an angry interchange followed by some time with the punching bag, and the apology I require all my Sims to make should they upset anyone, Petra once again expressed the desire to hug. I was definitely skeptical because of how awkward it had made things before, but I let her try and hug Lukas again. And for the first time ever, he let her! I'm not going to lie, I sat there squeeing with happiness, and it was also the moment they decided to consider each other romantic interests.
Mind you, this happened with me doing my absolute best to keep my meddling little fingers out of things-- the only decisions I really made that could have shifted things were who I told the Sims to interact with when they had a want. Many of them did happen while only one or two others were home, though, hehe.
Things have been going swimmingly since then-- the relationship is blossoming, their friendship is still very strong, and I've witnessed quite a bit of flirting at the chess table lol. Better yet, Lukas has stopped running away from hugs! I'm so proud of him <3
I'm not gonna lie, I am VERY happy about how all this worked out. I hardly had to meddle at all-- most of this was just through natural gameplay! If only things worked out this well in the actual game rip. But at least I have my Sims XD
If you actually read through all my rambling... wow, I'm honored XD Thanks for sticking with me through my going on and on about my virtual babies lol. But I guess that's what we're all here to do? XD
I can certainly give you further updates as I play if you'd like, hehe-- I'm certain this story is far from over.
Now if only we can make it to that distant chime of wedding bells...
