"Mama!" I called walking into my parent's house with Justynne and Bugz following behind me.

Both mom's and dad's car were outside so I knew they both were here.

"Gigi! Gigi! Gigi!"

"Is that my baby?"

"Ugh," Nene scoffed hearing mom call out for Bugz from what sounded like the kitchen. "Like she didn't just have her all weekend.

"Hi sweetheart, how are you?" I smiled watching her pickup Bugz, hugging her close.

"Good, can I have a donut?"

Playfully kissing her teeth, my mom nodded. "Of course you can, give me kiss"

"Mmmm-muah!" Bugz laughed as she usually did after the act. "Where's Pop-Pop at, Gigi?"

"He's upstairs in the bathroom! He'll be down in a second, go wash your hands so you can eat your donut, okay?"

"OK Gigi," as soon as her feet touched the floor, we all watched her scurry out of the room towards the kitchen.

"Hi babies!" Mom cooed as she held her arms out for us.

Angela Gonzalez was an African American, forty-six years young, gorgeous and beautifully spirited woman that never hesitated to do for others, and the most family oriented person I knew. She's spent the last twenty four years as a manager of the unemployment office, and the last twenty seven years as the wife to my father, Richard Gonzalez. From what I've heard, the two met at the unemployment office with my dad filling out paperwork after losing his job. He said that after the first day meeting her, he waited outside of her office to make sure she made it safely to her car and eventually she allowed the young Puerto Rican to take her out.

I don't know if it was the fact that he was two years younger, or if their chemistry was just really that good but whatever it was, it allowed my parents to still be in love and adore one another just as much as they did all those years ago.

They were truly my inspiration.

"Hey ma," I mumbled, graciously accepting her embrace.

"How are you?'

"I'm good ma, glad to be back"

Today was the first day that I was actually getting to spend time with them since moving back, I needed a moment to rewind and relax before getting back to business and what better way to do that then with family?

"Nene baby, you're glowing"

Justynne groaned, pulling out of the hug our mom had pulled her in to. "Ma, no! I'm not pregnant. Sheesh, can't I be married first?"

"That's right baby, don't be a thot like your mother and sister"

"Daddy," We all watched as he stepped off the final step, making his way to us. "-really? Thot?"

"His old ass just mad cause he look and act older than me-"

"Says the grandma"

"Watch it Rick"

I smiled watching their interaction, I'd missed this while in Kentucky.

"There my babygirl, how you doing baby?"

I sighed, relaxing in his arms. It was a feeling I had just recently grew to love. "Hi daddy, I'm good"

"Good, glad to hear that. Where's my Bugga Boo?"

"Washing her hands"

He nodded, greeting and hugging Nene before walking off calling for Josie.

"Come talk to me babies, I feel like we need to catch up"
