****Justice****
"Oh my God"
"Fuck going on? You on some set up shit my nigga?" Jedi was now standing, looking around at all of us. "Is that what you on now, Justice?"
"WHAT? NO! I didn't even know you knew them-"
"Chill shorty," it wasn't until Giovaughni whispered in my ear that I felt the warmth of his body pressed against mines. My eyes stayed trained on Jedi, as Gio spoke up only this time for us all to hear. "Ay, respect my house man and respect her"
"Nigga who the fuck is you? Eric, fuck you on? This the nigga you told me got to my girl first?"
"What?" My eyes darted in Eric's direction, waiting on him to explain.
"Ay, I ain't know she was here or I wouldn't have brought you to my kinfolk's house and you said it wasn't no issue fool, so what the fuck you on?"
Jedidiah's nostrils flared as Eric stepped to him. Though he was tall, Eric was definitely taller but that didn't stop Jedi from closing the small gap between the two.
"Hol'up, ain't gone be no fighting in my crib man." Gio informed them while stepping in front of me. "Who the fuck is this nigga, E?"
"Giovaughni," I tried stepping around him but he moved me right back behind him.
"E?"
"This her ex, bro."
It was then he turned to face me, looking down on me as if he was peering into my soul. His watchful gaze caused me to stir, shifting uncomfortably where I stood.
"This him?"
His question was one I'm sure he knew the answer to, his tone was enough to give it away but I nodded anyways; letting him know this was the man who had stole my heart years ago, then proceeded to break said vital organ, while simultaneously helping to create a life that would mean more than any other being I knew.
This was the Jedidiah.
He watched me a few minutes longer before sighing, rubbing a hand over the top of his head. "Follow the signs baby, do what's right."
"Boog?"
I froze hearing the name, it had been far too long since I'd heard it slip pass the lips I once loved to kiss.
"Go head"
I could've hurt Giovaughni for leaving me there, no longer being the blockade between Jedi and I.
"Hi Jedi"
"Hi Jedi? After all this time, that's all I get?" He shook his head. "Always said I didn't know what I'd do if I saw you again, but I-" he huffed out a breath of air, shaking his head again.
I didn't blame him, I didn't know what to say to him either.
Hence the dry greeting he received.
I know I planned on eventually meeting up, but this unexpected run-in was not part of the plans.
Hell, to be honest I had no plan so I guess God did it for us.
"I don't even know what to say Jed, I'm so sorry. So, so sorry- I don't know why I did it. I-"
I was cut off by him pulling me into a hug, his long limbs wrapped tightly around my waist, holding me close just as he did years ago.
His scent was nearly over powering, making me weak in the knees as the memories came flooding in.
Sighing, I relaxed in his arms while draping mines over his broad shoulders.
"Damn Boog, I missed you"
