"He's still away!?" Electra cried in disbelief.
"I'm sorry dear," Mrs Weasley placed her hand on her shoulder in comfort.
"Well, will he be back for Christmas Day!?"
"We can't know for sure,"
Electra groaned and slumped into the dining table chair, her head in her hands. They'd returned to Grimmauld Place for the winter holiday break and Christmas was in 5 days. Electra was dreading the holidays, there was no way she could do this without her father again.
"I can't spend 2 week here!" she gasped, earning an awkward and sympathetic smile from Molly. "I'm gonna have to go to Draco's," she concluded.
"Oh, I think it'll be best for your father to come back. Let him make those decisions," Molly suggested, desperately not wanting to cause an argument.
"Oh he'd be fine with it," Electra reassured her and smiled back to be polite. But Molly had an uneasy look on her face.
"I really don't feel comfortable making the decision to let you stay over at someone else's house, a boy's house, without Mason's permission,"
"You don't need to make any decisions," Electra snapped. "I've stayed over at boys houses before. My dad is fine with it. YOU have nothing to do with this," Molly was taken slightly aback by her sudden, harsh tone but she didn't back down.
"I-I-I just can't allow this- I, I won't allow this,"
"You can't make those decisions for me!"
"I'm sorry but I must put my foot down," Molly wasn't budging.
"You're not my fucking mother!" Electra shouted at Molly's face, the room fell in silence. Ron, Hermione and Harry had been watching the whole argument. Electra shoved the dining room chair over and ran up the stairs to her room, a loud slam of her door could be heard all the way from downstairs.
The room remained silent for a few seconds before Hermione piped up.
"Molly, you cannot let her treat you that way. That was completely out of order!" Harry nodded in agreement.
"No, no. She's right. I'm not her mother and I shouldn't try to act like I am," Molly sighs and sits down.
"You've been more of a mother to her since the summer! I haven't seen her mother visit or send a letter! Heck! I haven't even heard Electra mention her!"
"Hermione, stop" Ron murmured from behind. "I keep telling you to stop. You don't know shit!"
"You're always saying that Ron, but you never explain why! Why are you constantly at her defense? Despite the crap she says about us, about muggles and just her plain rude behaviour!"
"Electra's mother is dead, Hermione," Ron exclaimed with sigh. The news immediately caused everyone to tense up.
"What?" Harry murmured in shock, suddenly his body ached with guilt knowing exactly how she must feel.
"It's true," Molly sighed. "And I think it's about time you two knew, so you could be more patient with her and understand. She's no normal girl, that's clear, but what happened to her really damaged her. It was years ago now," Molly began, "But she hasn't been the same since. Back in the day Mason, Aster and Electra would come over to the Burrow quite often for dinner, Arthur and Mason were quite close at work. Electra was still young then, between ages five and eight; such a bubbly girl she was. Full of life and character but still quite argumentative, I recall many arguments between her and Ginny would stem from her bossiness! Anyway, her mother and her were ever so close, they did everything together. Aster would teach her magic from such as young age, she believed 11 was far too old for wizards and witches to start learning basic spells. Electra was taught magic by her mother from the age of 5, which is why she's such a talented witch now! She knew magic up to third year level before she had even started Hogwarts. Did you know she can do non-verbal spells? She can even block jinxes non-verbally as well!"
