"Look at this!" Electra thrusting her letter from Vega towards Draco. He read it swiftly, his lips moved ever so slightly as he mouthed the words on the page. His eyebrows rose as he got to the end of the letter.

"Wow," he said in disbelief, handing her the letter back.

"I have grandparents!" she gasped in both shock and amazement, "I probably have cousins and aunts too and my dad kept that from me because of their beliefs!"

"He's just shielding you from potential danger, like usual,"

"It's not danger! If I knew my grandparents I would've been able to say what I felt without the fear of being scolded or...or-or reprimanded! I'd have others who understand me!" Draco nodded at her, before speaking up.

"Yeah, that would be nice. I've never known any different..." he shrugged.

"You don't understand how lucky you have it, Draco! I'd give anything to have a family like yours-" she cut herself off, realising her words. Draco looked down at his lap, fiddling with his sleeves, then looked back up at her.

"Would you?" his voice stern and straight.

"I'm sorry, that was insensitive,"

"So...your date with Weasley tonight..." he brought up, she quickly looked t her watch and got up.

"Oh look at that! Time I leave!" she rushed wanting to avoid his teasing.

"Alright! Alright! But don't stay out too late, I need to show you the Vanishing Cabinet tonight," his large bug eyes looked up at her and she smiled in response.

"Of course, see ya later,"

Electra walked through the castle, up the long winding staircase to the Gryffindor Tower. As she approached the top of the tower she was faced with a large portrait of a large lady in her way. She looked around, checking if there was any doorway or corridor she missed, when the portrait spoke;

"PASSWORD?" she jumped and looked back at the portrait realising that this was the entrance to the common room.

"Baubles," she recited the password Ron had previously told her, the portrait swung outwards to reveal the corridor leading to the common room.

She slowly and sheepishly walked through into the cozy common room, heads turned to her and students noses and eyebrows scrunched.

"Electra!" her head darted to the direction of the voice, Ron stood up from the sofas and walked over to her. "We're sat over here by the fire," he placed a small kiss on her cheek, pulling a way with a small smile. He guided her to the sofas around the fire, his hand on her lower back. Ginny, Harry and Hermione were sat on one sofa and some other Gryffindors sat on the other side. Electra thought she recognised them, maybe Parvati and Lavender? Or maybe it was Padma. Either way the two of them were giving her dirty looks but she didn't blame them, she was certain she'd hit them with a Bat-Bogey Hex several times in the hallways.

"Hi guys," she chuckled nervously, taking a seat opposite Ginny, Harry and Hermione. Harry and Hermione greeted her warmly but Ginny didn't seem interested. Electra could already feel that this evening maybe hadn't been such a great idea.

"Here, I got the chessboard out for us," Ron diverted her attention to the gold chess set she'd gotten him for his birthday; he'd set it up ready for them.

The next few hours were comforting and familiar, the two played several games of chess and ate far too many mince pie. Ron was far more loose and relaxed around her and she liked that, it was attractive to her; a turn on. All evening he made small gestures; placing his hand on her knee, wrapping his arm around her shoulders or stroking strands of her hair. His behaviour shocked her slightly, how intimate he was acting in front of his friends. His friends who thought they were just friends a few days ago. It got Electra asking herself whether Ron saw them as...as a couple? She awoke from her thoughts, listening in on Ron, Harry, Hermione and Ginny talking about Quidditch.
