The twins are now 13

Ashlynn's POV

The weather had been nothing but rain this past week, but dad said we had nothing to worry about.

That is until I woke up the next day.

See, I usually sleep with a fan over me at night, so I knew the power was out when the fan was off.

I checked my phone to assure my assumptions and there were no bars of WiFi on my phone.

Then came the loudest scream ever known to man. My dad burst into my room thinking that something was wrong. At this point, I became an armadillo, curled up into a tight ball crying. My dad asked me what was wrong and I said that the power was out.

I might have said that too loud because Ish came running into my room with a scarred expression on his face. I told him the sad news and he started bawling.

And my dad just watched us with an unimpressed look on his face.

Mom walked into the room tiredly rubbing her eye while asking what was wrong. I told her, since Ishmael was still crying his eyes.

"Wait... Let me get this straight. You're telling me that you woke me up from my sleep, making me think that the damn zombie apocalypse was here, and this is what I come across?!?"

"Y-yes..."

"I asked for one normal family...."

My parents went back to their room, but when they finally got a hold of what I had said, the place became a madhouse.

Dad ran around the house screaming for the WiFi to come back, and mom just cried until she had no more tears left.

While their children watched the madness unfold.

This continued on for sometime until they calmed down. There was no water, so bathing would take some time to complete. We ate breakfast, which was either pancakes, cereal, or oatmeal.

The power didn't come back until it was well into the night. We rejoiced for it then spent some time on our phones until we went to sleep.

What a crazy day..

And I hope the power never goes again.
