Kevin's POV
It had been a week since the twins were born, and we still didn't have any names for them.
Today's the day when that changes.
I have the perfect names for them
For the girl, who is the older one, her name is Ashlynn, which means "a grove of ash trees"
And for the boy, his name is Kevin, Jr., which means "kind, gentle, and handsome"
Kirstin walked into the room, and I told her about the names. She liked Ashlynn, but Kevin,Jr. would be confusing, so she gave me her ideas. Adam, Scott, and Ishmael.
I said worked fine for me, and we got the papers written down.
*a few hours later*
We had just put the twins to sleep and we were watching Game of Thrones. Then we heard a loud wail coming from the nursery.
I got up to check it out, since Kit Kat was fast asleep. I opened the door to their room and walked over to their cribs Ashlynn was crying and Ishmael was as still as a log.
I picked the crying child up and calmly rocked her. She eventually calmed down, but she wouldn't go to sleep. I carried her to the rocking chair and started to sing her a lullaby. She fell asleep, and I put her back into her crib. I turned around to walk out the door, and Kirstin was standing there with a proud smile on her face. She knew I had been worried about taking care of them, and, seeing that I had handled the situation so calmly, we both knew I had no need to fear. She tenderly kissed me on the lips and pulled me into our room to rest.
Being a parent won't be so hard after all.
