DAYOFF

Finally!

A day off!

Not like I work everyday but still,  a whole weekend free!

This is great! I can be lazy again.

I woke up at ten and saw my family all dressed up when I went down.

"you wanna come with us? We're visiting your uncle in Yokohama." dad told me while he read the morning newspaper. 

"yeah...  Nope.  I'll pass." I scrunched my nose. I don't like going somewhere every week
It's just.... Weird. Like,  don't you guys wanna relax and stay put? 

"well then,  there's still some leftovers in the fridge.  And you can fry some chicken legs if you want." mom said.

"when are you coming back?"

"we'll be here tonight. But you go on ahead and eat without us." she replied,  "or eat at the Kuroos."

"'Kay. "

The sound of the car's engine sounded like freedom but also sounded lonely.

I stayed there lying down on the couch for a while, staring at the ceiling while I was calculating how much more I needed to earn to buy myself that laptop I wanted.

When all of a sudden, my phone rang.

"yeah,  hello?" I answered.

"hello? Yui?" he called out. I was unsure who it was at first so I looked at my screen real quick and read the called Id. 

"Oikawa kun? Is that you? Why are you calling??" I didn't want to sound rude but I was genuinely curious.

"I was just wondering why you didn't come to work? Are you sick? Want me to come over and take care of you?" he worried.

Geez! This guy! Why was he making me wanna wiggle my toes and roll around on the floor! I'm totally spazzing! He's so cute. ❤

"didn't I tell you?"

"tell me what?"

"that today's my day off..."

"really? You took a day off?"

"yeah."

"why? I'll be missing you... You should have told me so I could have taken a day off too.... So we could hangout..." he sounded like a little puppy over the phone.

"d'aww... Sorry. I promise I'll make it up to you." I replied.

"you better." he sighed. "but we'll still keep in touch even after summer, right?"

"of course! There's no doubt about that Oikawa kun~" I exclaimed.

"that's good to hear. I'm so relieved." I could just imagine his closed-eye smile.

"well, you better get back to your job. Don't want those regulars to think you're slacking off..." I reminded him.

"okay then. I'll call you later when I get off work, alright?"

"alright. I'll be waiting." I smiled.

"ja"

We put the call down.

Ugh. Why was Oikawa such a breathe of fresh air? I felt so light all of a sudden. Just hearing his voice made me so happy, let alone the fact that he was worried about me.

But before I forget, I stand up and scroll through my contacts and text Tetsuro that I was coming over in a few.

I went over with just my worn out polka dotted
leggings and an oversized hoodie on.
