"I can't sleep"- Sasuke x Reader

I couldn't sleep. Not that it was anything new though, it has been like this for a while. For the past year, I would lie down in bed, with the thin piece of fabric I call a blanket over me and him.  As we would lay down, he would have his arms wrapped around my waist pulling me closer to his chest.

It's not that I hated Sasuke, actually, I loved him beyond belief. It was the fact he would never listen to what I had to say, sure we would sometimes sit and talk but he would never listen.

Now like any other night, here I lay in bed wide awake just starting into the black abyss. I could hear Sasuke's soft snores emitting from his mouth. All I did was quietly sigh but, apparently that was enough noise to wake Sasuke up.

"(Y/N), why are you still awake..... it's like 2 am," Sasuke yawned obviously still tired.

"Oh... It's nothing you can go back to sleep." I whispered not wanting to get into a conversation.

Clearly, that wasn't convincing in the slightest because next thing I knew, I was being turned over so I was now facing Sasuke with one of his hands caressing my cheek.

"(Y/N), Why are you crying...?" Sasuke asked concerned still caressing my cheeks but, now trying to rid of my tears.

When Sasuke brought up the fact that I was indeed crying I couldn't help but allow more tears to fall.

Sasuke sighed and kissed my forehead, "(Y/N) could you please tell me why you are crying."

With all the courage I could muster up I spoke, "Well you see... I had a bad dream... where you... died...."

Lies. That was all a godforsaken lie. I could never tell him the truth.

"You don't ever have to worry about me dying (Y/N)." Sasuke confirmed now bring his arms back around my waist, "For you see the only thing standing in front of our happiness is...... Itachi."

A lie again. I didn't want Itachi dead, Sasuke did.

"Oh alright... Well you should get to sleep now you are training with Orochimaru tomorrow," I explained in a small voice still hurt for all the lies we share.

"Ok, good night." Sasuke said before closing his eyes and returning to sleep, like nothing ever happened.

I swallowed the lump in my throat keeping me from making a sob.

"Good night... I love you." I responded meekly.

And that night like any other night..... Sasuke did not reply to my love.
