-Abby's POV-

I looked over at Leah, her face was full of determination unlike before. What was going on through her head? One second she's crying the next she's angry. Is she okay?

Thoughts come to my head on what could be the problem but none seem reasonable.

I glance around us to see where we are. We're close, that's all I know. Does she know where she's going? I mean she's walking backwards. A sigh escaped from my mouth. She's always been like this, thinking she knows everything when she truely doesn't. Stubborn girl.

Silence met us soon as we continued through the woods, but as always that didn't last long as we began to hear gunshots again and screaming which told us we were near the city. The place I dreaded to go back to. Leah began walking faster and a smile crept upon her lips. How can she do this? She's walking backwards as if it were as easy as walking forwards!

We stop at the edge of the woods to see where we were.

My heart wanted to stop right then at the view.

-Leah's POV-

Well shit. This is just great! We were at least twenty minutes from the pharmacy, but the only thing that made me even more angry was the smell; oh that horrible smell. It's as if a hundred cats decided to piss on everything and die right there. Okay so I'm not that good at comparing things to another but you get the just of it, right?

The view to me personally wasn't as bad as the smell. But usually something that doesn't seem bad to me is actually horrible to everyone else. I could tell this was one of those moments by the look on Abby's face.

There were bodies, everywhere. Most were torn open but others were shot to death. One particular body caught my eye; a boy, my age, was covered in blood and had a bullet hole in his chest and head. By the look of him you could tell he was one of those things, but his face... just so familiar... Strawberry blonde hair, now covered in dirt and blood, pale-ish skin with a few freckles here and there, and glasses, cracked, broken, and twisted, half on his head half off.

"Matt..." Abby let out a little, barely audible, gasp.

Our friend Matthew, that's who it was. I felt uncomfortable tears threating to come, I couldn't let them come, I've cried enought. But a few managed to escape down my cheek. I shook my head, Matt didn't deserve this death, no one did.

We stood there for a minute before we heard a growl from behind us telling it was time to go. Abby didn't want to move, clearly in shock, but I wouldn't let that slow us down.

"Come on Abby! Do you want to die or help me save a life?!" I said it a little to sharply but I wouldn't let Jay die, I won't let another innocent be taken so quickly from my grasp.

She looked at me shocked that I didn't cry over our friend, I could see the tear trails from her eyes but I didn't comment.

She started moving again, slowly but atleast she moved. We carefully stepped over the bodys and debrey, it was just so disgusting. It surprising how much the world truely changed.

We were near the pharmacy now. Almost there... Jay's breathing slowed, and that's not good at all.

We actually got there without much more trouble now the task was to get the wood off the back door. "Abby quick look for something to pry this wood off." Abby nodded and set down Jay's feet down and started hurrying around the ally way searching for anything. She smiled and ran back over me. She had a bloodied crowbar that was once a bright red.

I nodded and she began to tear off boards that were hastily put on. She had some trouble with a few of them but she managed to get them off.

Rushing inside with Jay we set him on the ground and we quickly got to work.
