Chapter 5

~Katie's POV~

Matthew Espinosa..... I never thought I would hear that name again. I can't believe he saved me... I mean I did save him too but still I never thought I would hear from him again.

**Flashback**

I was walking down the hallway with my best friends Regina and Chanel. (Yes, we were friends before and then it happened) And while we were walking we passed by Michael who was dragging this kid out the door, me being the curious girl I am followed to see what was going on. And I couldn't believe what I saw.... Michael toke out his pocket knife about to hurt the kid when I screamed for him to stop.

Katie: STOP! MICHAEL WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!!

Michael: Stay out of this Katie!

And as he said that he put the knife through the kid.

Katie: NOOO!!

I then pushed Michael off and I saw this weak helpless boy. I called 911 as Michael ran and I went to the hospital with the boy. Thank God he was still alive after they did whatever they did to him. I was about to leave but for some reason I just couldn't.... no one came to see that boy, not any friends, not even his parents came. So I decided to go and visit him, he was asleep when I got there I sat there prayed for him, kissed him on the cheek, and as I was in the doorway I heard him speak

Boy: Thank you

Katie: No problem.. Wait what's your name?

Boy: Matthew... Matthew Espinosa

Katie: Well Matthew Espinosa if you need anything just call I left my number. Feel better.

Matt: Thank you again

And then I left... but that wasn't the end of it. Turns out Matthew was this "nerd" and he had no friends and his parents worked all day. And he was one of Michaels main "targets". So, this is what happened when everyone found out what I did for Matt.

Michael: Well well well looks like little Katie has gone soft

Katie: What? No I haven't why would you say that!?

Regina: Cause you helped little Matthew the other day

Katie: What was I supposed to do? Leave him there to die??!

Michael: Yeah! That was the whole point of stabbing him with a freaking knife!

Katie: Well I'm sorry I have a heart and wouldn't be able to live with myself if I saw some innocent boy dying and I didn't help him.

Then, I pushed them out of the way and started to walk away.

Michael: IF YOU WALK AWAY, WE ARE DONE WITH YOU!

Katie: What do you mean done with me?

Regina: We mean you are out of the group and you're on your own

Katie: Fine! I don't want to be friends with murders anyways!

And with that I walked away.... but that's only when it got worse cause since that day that's when my bullying started. But remember the mistake I talked about earlier that wasn't it but it sure had something to do with it.

** End of Flashback**

Sam: Katie? You okay?

Katie: Yeah. I was just thinking about something.

Sam: Ok well you should get some rest

Katie: Yeah ok

I went up to my room and laid in my bed thinking of that moment.. Matt's blood flowing out, me screaming for help and..... And that mistake oh that mistake is what brought me here today.
