Post-Interview (Part 1 of 2)

Genuine and sweet smiles were painted on their faces as the Teng couple read the last word of their magazine interview.

"Alam mo, after reading this, anyone can tell that you're head over heels for me.", Jeron smirked.

"Tch, ang kapal. Sino kaya sa atin ang nagsabing excited siyang magpakasal?", Mika replied.

Jeron responded by wrapping his arm around his wife.

"Sabi ko nga eh, ako yung hulog na hulog sayo.", he said, before planting a kiss on Mika's cheek. The latter smiled and stared at the man holding her.

"Promise ba? Hanggang ngayon, masasabi mo pa rin yan?", she wondered out loud.

"Of course. Did I ever miss a day of telling you how much I love you?", he asked back, looking straight at her.

Mika shook her head with a smile.

"I love you, Jeron.", she said and gave her husband a peck on the lips. "Pero mas mamahalin kita pag naubos mo na yung coffee na tinimpla ko for you.", she beamed before getting the mug from the table and offering it to Jeron. The latter could only scratch his head.

"Natapos na natin yung article, pero di mo pa naka-kalahati oh.", Mika even pouted.

"Bakit mo ba ako pinipilit ubusin yan? May gayuma ba yan?", Jeron joked.

"Tch. Di ko kailangan ng gayuma 'no. Ako lang, sapat na.", Mika replied with confidence.

Jeron chuckled, agreeing with her, and hesitantly took the mug. Honestly, the coffee tasted too bitter for him but he didn't have the heart to tell his wife, seeing the big smile on her face when she first handed him the mug.

Jeron took a sip and mustered a smile.

Mika was looking at him intently. "Drink it straight na.", she demanded.

Jeron looked at her in confusion.

"Teka. Ano ba talagang meron dito? May lason ba 'to?", he asked, letting out a small laugh.

"Sira, bakit naman kita lalasunin eh kailangan pa kita.", Mika answered.

"Wow, babe. I don't know whether I'm supposed to be happy with that.", he said, pretending to be hurt. "Buti na lang willing akong magpagamit sayo.", he then said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Aiiisshhh, daming satsat. Amin na nga!", she was about to grab the mug when Jeron held it away from her.

"Akin 'to eh!", he insisted.

"Eh bakit parang di mo mainom? Di ba masarap?", Mika finally asked.

Jeron took a deep breath and looked at her.

"Masarap naman."

Mika raised her eyebrow at that as if asking whether Jeron meant his answer.

"But I think it could use a little more sugar.", he said nervously.

"Bat di mo sinabi agad?", Mika responded before rushing to their kitchen.

When she got back, she was holding the jar of muscovado sugar and a teaspoon. She proceeded in adding two teaspoons in the mug.

"O yan. Taste it na, dali."

Jeron shook his head slightly, feeling amused at his wife's enthusiasm over the coffee.

"Masarap. Just the right taste.", he then said. And this time, he meant it.
