"Okay, see you tomorrow!" I said.
[Wake up early!!] Daphne said and ended the call. Natawa na lang ako dahil sa kanya.
We booked tickets to see our favorite band at Wembley Stadium last week. She was constantly reminding me not to be late. I'm Filipino, of course, but I've never been late for any of the events I've had to attend.
We are on a summer break, kaya wala kaming masyadong ginagawa. I only have a month left before starting my first term as a 1st-year college. Damn, I'm still in college. I'm getting sick of school already!
I promised myself I'd accomplish a lot of productive stuff during the summer break, but all I've done is watch dramas. I'm a little disappointed in myself. Really.
I was watching a drama in our living room when someone entered. "Hey, why are you still awake?" I looked at the person who talked, it was Jeoff.
I paused the drama to greet him. Tumayo ako agad at nilapitan siya.
"What are you doing here?" I said as I hugged him. He later released the hug and loosened his tie. Halatang pagod at galing sa company nila.
"Ali is looking for me. Where is he?" he said as we took a seat on the sofa.
"Probably in the library," I resumed watching the drama.
"You're going on a concert with Daphne, right? Why are you still awake?" He was on his phone. I checked the time on the wall and noticed that it was just 10 p.m.
"It's only 10 PM, oh," I pointed to the wall clock. "The concert will start at 6 PM." After nitong episode na 'to, matutulog na ako... Or, baka isa pa?
"Are you sure you'll be okay, just by yourself?" He asked me, napause ko tuloy yung drama at tumingin sa kanya. I furrowed my brows.
"I'm with Daphne, of course I'll be fine." I assured him. He was meant to accompany us to the concert, but due to his internship schedule, he would be unable to do so.
"Besides, Conrad will be with us," I added, talking about Daphne's boyfriend. "Don't worry." He only nodded. His concerned face is still visible. Natawa at napailing ako.
I resumed the drama and watched until the episode ended.
"It already ended, go to sleep." He stayed with me till it was over. I chuckled.
"Oo na, okay." Hinatid niya pa ako sa kwarto ko. "Good night!"
Saturday.
I was awakened not by my alarm clock, but by missed phone calls. While my eyes were still closed, I grabbed for my phone on the nightstand and answered it. I'm sure it's Daphne. It's her, based on her constant reminders last night.
